Community Highlights: Meet Becca Halm of Little Bird Bamboo

Today we’d like to introduce you to Becca Halm.

Hi Becca, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I had a long journey to starting! I did the research for around a year on starting a baby clothing line, starting a boutique, or starting some other form of children’s company. I wanted to create something that would become apart of everyone’s favorite memories and milestones with their babies and work with artists who could bring vibrant, creative prints that really spark that magic that is childhood!

After falling in love with bamboo, we finally made our start in September of 2021 with a military print that brought us so many of our military customers! By 2022 we were doing weekly drops of new prints and as of 2023, we are licensed with both Peter Rabbit and Strawberry Shortcake and have so many plans for what we can create this year!

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Starting a clothing brand from scratch is never easy. The obvious parts of building a customer base and surviving the competition is a huge aspects, but even simple things like the economy struggle greatly affect our sales! We have to plan months in advance and many things are a gamble until you really discover what your customer base loves the most.

As you know, we’re big fans of Little Bird Bamboo. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
We specialize in bamboo clothing for babies and kids, but now even have adult wear too! Our goal is to create community and connection through the magical prints we create! We even started a book club a few months ago to continue fostering connection amongst our customers, where we pick a monthly book and post activities to go with them! We also regularly do military and first responder support prints (my husband is army!), which has really set us apart amongst that community as well. I think I’m most proud of our collaborations we have coming out with Peter Rabbit and Strawberry Shortcake this year!

Before we go, is there anything else you can share with us?
