Today we’d like to introduce you to Cheron Hamner.
Hi Cheron, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I’ve been an entrepreneur in the beauty industry for over 30 years, beginning as a hairstylist and quickly realizing that my work was never just about hair. It was about confidence, identity, and how women see themselves.
I built my career specializing in textured hair and offering an intentional, one-on-one experience rooted in education, integrity, and real results.
Today, my work extends beyond the chair into image development and confidence work, helping women feel aligned on the inside and reflected on the outside.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Not at all. The first six years of my career I was a single mother searching for where I truly belonged in the industry. I salon hopped, learned a lot, but didn’t find my passion until discovering precision cutting, which makes sense because the first time I fell in love with my image was at age 13, after my first real haircut.
The salon that trained me in advanced cutting was highly educational but toxic, and being fired forced a sudden pivot toward spaces that aligned with both my values and my diverse clientele.
Navigating depression during that season of finding my place in the industry became a turning point and led me into holistic healing, authorship, podcasting, and eventually hypnosis as tools for deeper connection and service.
After being fired I moved to a salon suite then returned to an open-concept salon, weathered the pandemic as an essential worker and ultimately became the owner of the very salon I once worked in.
Being an entrepreneur is full of bumpy roads and at times dead ends (pun intended)
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
My business is built on the belief that beauty is not one-size-fits-all.
I specialize in cutting and styling across all hair types and textures, and I’m known for my precision approach, consistency and ability to work confidently with women of all ethnicities.
Creating inclusive, high-level experiences has always been non-negotiable for me because every client deserves to feel seen, understood, and expertly cared for.
What sets my work apart is the depth of intention. I don’t rush services or rely on trends; I focus on education, healthy hair, and creating shapes that support how a woman actually lives and wears her hair.
Over time, that technical mastery naturally evolved into confidence and image work, because I saw how transformational it is when a woman understands herself and feels aligned with her appearance. I saw that transformation in me.
Brand wise, I’m most proud of the trust I’ve built. My clients know they’re receiving thoughtful, honest care in a space that honors individuality.
I want readers to know that my brand is about more than beauty services, it’s about helping women feel comfortable in their skin, confident in their choices, and reflected authentically on the outside. My podcast focuses on the alignment of inner and external beauty.
Do you have any advice for those looking to network or find a mentor?
Curiosity has been my greatest asset. Even though asking questions got me in trouble growing up, that same curiosity helped me get into rooms where I could grow.
I’ve learned to be open-minded, ask thoughtful questions, and seek environments that stretch me.
Investing time and money into my development through education, events, and relationships has always paid off.
