Hi Christopher , so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hello everyone, my name is Christopher Thermitus, also known as Big Chris (not the little one), and I’m the CEO and founder of Chris Lux Events.
I was born in New Jersey and raised in Georgia, where creativity, community, and faith shaped who I am today. My journey into event planning began naturally through my involvement at my home church. I found myself naturally stepping in to organize programs, decorate spaces, coordinate moments, and bring visions to life for special services and celebrations. What began as service quickly turned into passion.
I realized I didn’t just enjoy planning events—I loved creating experiences. I loved seeing people walk into a room and feel something. I loved turning ideas into moments that felt intentional, elevated, and unforgettable. That’s when it clicked, this wasn’t just a gift—it was a calling.
Now, I’m turning my craft into cash flow and stepping boldly into my purpose as an upcoming luxury event planner here in Atlanta, Georgia. Chris Lux Events is built on faith, excellence, and creativity, and I’m incredibly excited for this journey and all the opportunities and open doors God will open in 2026 and beyond.

And this is only the beginning.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all.
Like many entrepreneurs, I’ve faced challenges but the biggest one was deeply personal. Toward the end of 2025, I experienced the loss of my sister. That season changed me. I lost not only someone I loved, but also my sense of hope and purpose for a moment. It was a time where everything felt heavy, and even my passion paused.
But through that pain, I’m learning to heal and to trust God with His plan for my life. I’m still in the process, taking things one day at a time, but I believe God can bring purpose out of pain and beauty out of brokenness. This journey has taught me resilience, faith, and the importance of walking forward even when you don’t have all the answers.
Today, I move with intention, gratitude, and trust knowing that this chapter is part of a bigger story God is still writing.

Chris Lux Events is a Black-owned luxury event planning and decorating business based in Atlanta, Georgia. (We do travel)
We specialize in creating elevated, intentional experiences that reflect our clients’ visions while adding a touch of elegance and excellence.
Our services include planning and décor for birthdays, gender reveals, baby showers, weddings, grand openings, specialty programs, brand launch events, holiday celebrations, and much more. Whether it’s an intimate gathering or a large-scale celebration, we focus on the details that turn moments into memories.
