Today we’d like to introduce you to Chuck Allen.
Hi Chuck, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
Chuck Allen is a passionate community leader with a mission of “instigating transformative solutions to serve those in need better – every day.” As Lead Pastor of Sugar Hill Church, a thriving multi-cultural congregation of 5,500+ members in northeast Atlanta, he guides numerous community-centric organizations.
Chuck co-founded ClearPath Counseling Network, which makes mental healthcare accessible through 250+ licensed therapists. Through ClearPath, our clients qualify for significant financial assistance and receive a free thirty-minute assessment with a licensed therapist to help partner them the the ideal therapist for them. The key is accessibility. ClearPath makes it simple. Just complete a brief assessment online at clearpathcounseling.org, select a date and time for your free assessment, and ClearPath will provide several options for you to see a therapist, typically within two weeks, and discover a therapist who accepts your insurance and has an affordable scale to help anyone.
As the Chief Development Officer of Neighborhood Meals on Wheels, he helps oversee the delivery of 60,000+ meals annually to homebound seniors in Gwinnett County. This year, NMOW is building a new kitchen to continue meeting the needs of homebound senior adults.
Chuck co-hosts The Positive Talk Podcast, merging faith and psychology to enrich listeners’ lives. With his co-host, Julie Homrich, they sound a bit like the opening of a joke…A pastor and a therapist walk into a bar…

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Building a church and operating multiple non-profits has had significant challenges, including my promise to God that I’d never be a pastor, losing my wife to cancer at 43, losing my entire life savings in 2009, and merging a blended family with six daughters two years later.
My early days at Sugar Hill Church were the toughest leadership challenge of my life, as everything was changing rapidly to get the church out of debt and growing once again. That required significant pain in the various changes and challenges.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?

What does success mean to you?
Success, for me, is measured by the lasting, positive change we create in our community through service, compassion, and innovation. As I lead Sugar Hill Church, my goal is to significantly impact our schools, families, and neighborhoods—empowering others through faith and evidence-based psychological tools shared on the Positive Talk Podcast. Through ClearPath Counseling, I strive to make mental health care accessible and affordable, breaking down barriers for those in need. Neighborhood Meals on Wheels allows us to serve Gwinnett County’s most vulnerable with dignity and love. True success is not just what we accomplish today, but how we inspire and equip the next generation to lead with greater empathy, courage, and a deep commitment to serving others.
