Community Highlights: Meet Cylla Senii of Featherstone Entertainment, LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Cylla Senii

Hi Cylla, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
Ever since I was a child, I always had a love for creative storytelling and acting. I was born in Queens, New York and grew up in Warner Robins, GA. After graduating from the University of Georgia with a degree in Advertising and a background in Film Studies and Music Business, I went back to New York to pursue my dreams in filmmaking, acting, and entertainment. Throughout ten years, I started working in the ad space, then transitioned to radio at HOT 97 and WBLS, then went on to working in tv and development at the likes of Nickelodeon, Disney, GrioTV, A&E, and more.

At the same time, I never lost sight of pursuing my creative dreams, and created the Situationships© brand back in 2014. I initially created the web series, “Situationships,” and garnered a large following on social and YouTube. By season 2, I was able to get the show released on BET which was a huge dream that I was happy to bring to life. I created the show, directed, acted, and produced it, and was beyond grateful to my amazing team, crew, and supporters who supported along the way. Since the creation of my brand, I also opened my Black-owned, woman-led production company, Featherstone Entertainment, and have since produced, developed, and made a variety of tv series, web series, shorts, and a new podcast which has been super exciting. Throughout that time, I’ve produced, developed, or created shows on TV ONE, GrioTV, A&E, and BlavityTV. I’ve also developed the Situationships© brand into a television series and just released the Situationships Podcast on REVOLT Podcast Network in 2025. And there’s a lot more coming, which I’m excited about!

I’m beyond grateful to continue creating and sharing stories that inspire, that are relatable and bring people to gather, and that encourage creatives to know that it’s possible to bring their art to life in such a highly competitive field.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
For me, it wasn’t the easiest road to bring these dreams to life. What people don’t know is that it does take a lot of work, a lot of effort, and tons of unseen hours on the outside to build a brand or build a production company with limited resources. I would often work at the same time while building my dreams and passions in the evenings and on weekends, for years. I think that having the right community, the right team, the right mentors, and the right business partners are truly vital to building a successful company or brand. I’ve also learned the importance of owning one’s own IP, and how protecting your creative work as an artist is truly of utmost importance. That should be the first thing that an artist does, and then you can have all of the creative range and freedom to continue sharing your art with the world.

As you know, we’re big fans of Featherstone Entertainment, LLC. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I’ve owned my production company, Featherstone Entertainment, LLC, for 9 years now, and it truly has been such an incredible journey. I provide 7 services that range from production, development, writing, producing, directing, and more. I’ve seen amazing success, especially after the creation of my Situationships© brand, including a web series, tv show, podcast, and more. I am super grateful and am also proud of the work that I’ve done. My main mission is to create and uplift stories that are from underserved or underrepresented voices and creatives.

I’ve done work for large corporations, networks, production companies, and celebrities, while also still bringing indie work to life that resonates and brings joy. I’ve also been a bit of a production or development whisperer, that receives a lot of referrals corporately. This year, I also want to make sure that more creatives and indie artists are aware of what I provide, so that I can continue to be of service to those that want to break into the entertainment space. I provide tv & film development and consultation services for projects and am always happy to be booked via my website at cyllasenii.com/services.

What does success mean to you?
I believe that success arrives when you are truly in alignment with God’s path for your life and when you are truly living the dreams that God put on your heart. It’s not always easy to bring that to a reality, but when you can wake up everyday feeling gratitude, feeling healthy, and feeling passionate about what you are doing each day, I’d say that’s how I define success. I love to create, I love the art of storytelling – whether through filmmaking, acting, directing, writing, or producing and whether it’s a project I’ve created or a project that I truly support. Bringing my art to life and seeing it resonate with others fills me with a lot of joy. And to me, true success isn’t just about achievement, it’s about genuine happiness and fulfillment.
