Hi Da’Mon, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I didn’t set out to build just another dog training company. I set out to build a movement rooted in trust, safety, and transformation. My journey began with a simple but powerful realization: families don’t just need someone to “teach their dog commands.” They need a guide who understands the stakes, the safety of their children, the harmony of their home, and the bond they share with their dog.
Early on, I saw how often training overlooked the human side of the equation. So I leaned into my strengths: reading subtle cues, blending empathy with authority, and creating programs that protect families while unlocking a dog’s full potential. What started as me working one-on-one with local clients grew into Iron Will Dog Training, a company built on the belief that every dog can thrive when given structure, clarity, and compassion.
The road wasn’t always easy. I had to learn how to balance being a trainer, a business owner, and an educator. I invested countless hours into refining my messaging, building systems, and benchmarking against industry leaders not to compete, but to raise the standard. Along the way, I discovered that my true gift wasn’t just training dogs; it was empowering people.
Today, Iron Will Dog Training is more than a service; it’s a promise. A promise that families can feel safe, dogs can feel understood, and transformation is always possible when you lead with integrity and heart. My story is still being written, but every client I help reminds me why I started: to protect, to teach, and to inspire lasting change.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
The struggle is real, and the bottom line is you cannot please everyone. There are cases where people do not want to do the work and put in the time to get the results they are seeking. Providing people with all the tools and knowledge needed while leading them in the way needed for their personality and character type does not always make for a good match. Not all trainers are built equally, and sometimes the chemistry is not there. Also, there are times you may be out and working with a dog, and someone may not agree with what you are doing, even though they know nothing about the situation, and all of this leads back to people going to the internet to slander your name, give bad reviews, and enlist their family and friends to assist in assassinating you online.
