Today we’d like to introduce you to Danielle Allen.
Hi Danielle, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started in this industry over five years ago. When I started, I was a single mother of 5 children who wanted to make a mark in the world. I was working two jobs which one of them was with the Department of Revenue in Tallahassee, FL. I had a vision and a plan. I started doing taxes out of my home and overnight while working in the hospital. I had a determination to be successful, I learned different techniques in preparing taxes. When I first started, I was just filing basic taxes. Today I have built a team of tax professionals servicing clients throughout the U.S. I have turned a small tax office in a one stop accounting firm, servicing small business owners as well as individuals in not only preparing taxes but all of their accounting needs.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
The road to entrepreneurship could never be a smooth road it comes with many challenges and struggles along the way. My struggles came from accepting the unenviable. I had to learn that business will be business and not to take things personal. Your biggest support and clients will be strangers and they will make the best clients. If I had a do-over I would have set boundaries early in the game so that I could have been more available to my family.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
My favorite childhood memory is traveling back and forth from Florida to New York. My family is from Queens, NY but we migrated to the South at an early age. We used to travel on Greyhound and sometimes by car back home. I love a road trips.
