Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Uchenna Onyia.
Hi Dr. Onyia, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Uchenna Onyia, DPT and I love being a physical therapist. I’ve worked in orthopedics for the duration of my career, however I always disliked how care was provided. I knew I could help change the rehabilitation experience if I had the opportunity to. That led me to open Optimum Physical Therapy. It was birthed by the desire to provide quality, individualized, one on one care. No aides or technicians involved. No juggling multiple patients. Just the clinician and the patient 100% of the time. I knew if care was provided that way, I’d be able to help patients get better quicker and provide a better quality of care. Through numerous patients and clients believing in the company’s vision and trusting us with their care, we have been able to build to a multi-clinician clinic.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Starting a business is no easy feat. There were a lot of things I had to learn along the way. It was a lot of trial and error when it came to setting up the business. There’s no manual, experience is truly your best teacher. The hardest aspect has been getting the word out. There are many corporate physical therapy clinics that are well-known in the area however those who have found Optimum Physical Therapy quickly saw the difference. We work hard but we are also a family and truly take pride in providing top-tier care. We continue to spread the word as best as possible and we are thankful for patients and clients who tell their friends and families about our services and their experience.
