Community Highlights: Meet Dr. Walker of BRAINSPINE CHIROPRACTIC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Dr. Walker.

Hi Dr., thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
From a young age, I was drawn to the idea of helping people feel and function better without relying on surgery or medication. That led me to chiropractic—an approach that not only reduces pain, but supports the body’s natural ability to heal, adapt, and perform. During my time at Life University, where I earned both my Doctorate of Chiropractic and Master’s degree in Positive Psychology, I became deeply fascinated by the connection between the brain and the body. That curiosity ultimately opened the door to functional neurology and changed the way I understood human health.

Functional neurology allowed me to bridge the gap between musculoskeletal conditions and neurological function. Suddenly, the patients I once saw as “complex cases” made perfect sense. Migraines, concussions, dizziness, vertigo, balance issues, headaches, movement limitations, and athletic performance struggles weren’t random symptoms—they were signs of how the brain was communicating with the body. Through advanced training and earning my Diplomate of Functional Neurology (DACNB) through the Carrick Institute, I gained the tools to evaluate and treat these conditions at their root. It became clear that chiropractic and neurology were not separate disciplines, but two essential parts of helping people live healthier, stronger, more resilient lives.

That vision is what guided me to open BrainSpine Chiropractic in Marietta. The clinic was built around a simple motto: Patient-Centered. Performance-Ready. Purpose-Driven. We care for athletes, active adults, and anyone seeking long-term results—whether they are recovering from an injury, dealing with chronic pain, navigating neurological symptoms, or striving to perform at a higher level. Every patient receives individualized care that blends chiropractic adjustments with brain-based rehabilitation, movement strategies, and performance-focused correction.

Why do we do all of this? Because everyone deserves the chance to feel strong, stable, and confident in their body. BrainSpine Chiropractic was created to help people move better, think clearer, recover faster, and perform at their absolute best—whether on the field, at work, or in daily life. At the end of the day, our purpose is simple: to bring out the ATHLETE in YOU and empower every patient to reach their fullest potential.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Some of my greatest lessons came from the early challenges of my career. I opened my first practice shortly after graduating, full of excitement and ambition—but, like many new doctors, I quickly learned that knowledge from the classroom doesn’t automatically translate into running a successful clinic. Just as I was beginning to find my footing, the COVID-19 pandemic struck and brought everything to a halt.

While that period was incredibly difficult, it also became one of the most transformative chapters of my professional journey. The obstacles I faced—both expected and unexpected—pushed me to grow, adapt, and develop a deeper understanding of what it truly means to serve patients. Those experiences, both positive and humbling, ultimately shaped the chiropractor and functional neurologist I am today and laid the foundation for the vision behind BrainSpine Chiropractic.

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
BrainSpine Chiropractic is a neuro-focused chiropractic clinic dedicated to helping people feel, function, and perform at their highest level. Our practice combines traditional chiropractic care with advanced functional neurology to offer a more comprehensive, brain-based approach to healing and human performance. We specialize in treating individuals with migraines, headaches, concussions, dizziness, vertigo, movement and balance issues, sports injuries, and chronic musculoskeletal pain. We also work closely with athletes and active adults who want to enhance strength, coordination, reaction time, and overall performance—both on and off the field.

What truly sets us apart is our commitment to treating the whole person, not just the site of pain. Functional neurology allows us to evaluate how the brain and body communicate, giving us deeper insight into why symptoms occur and how to correct them at the source. Every visit blends chiropractic adjustments with individualized brain-based rehabilitation and performance-driven exercises. This integrative model allows patients to see longer-lasting improvements, faster recovery, and meaningful changes in how they move, think, feel, and perform.

Brand-wise, I am most proud of our core identity: Patient-Centered. Performance-Ready. Purpose-Driven. Those words guide every decision we make—how we treat, how we communicate, and how we support each patient’s goals. At BrainSpine Chiropractic, care is never one-size-fits-all. Our mission is to provide an elevated level of clinical attention while creating an environment where patients feel heard, understood, and empowered.

What I want readers to know is this:
If you’re seeking answers, want to perform better, or are ready to take control of your health, there is a place for you at BrainSpine Chiropractic.
Whether you’re dealing with chronic migraines, recovering from a concussion, trying to get back into the gym, or striving to elevate your athletic performance, we are here to guide that journey with advanced expertise and genuine care. Our goal is simple—to bring out the athlete in you and help you live a stronger, clearer, more purpose-driven life.

Who else deserves credit in your story?
I have been fortunate to learn from many remarkable colleagues throughout my career—individuals who have shaped the way I think, the way I practice, and the way I care for my patients. Several respected functional neurologists have played a pivotal role in my clinical development, generously sharing their knowledge and helping me refine my approach to patient care. Building a practice truly takes a community, and I am grateful for the mentors and peers who have contributed to my growth along the way.

Beyond the professional support, my greatest encouragement has come from my wife. Her unwavering belief in me and her constant support have carried me through every challenge and success. Having a strong family foundation is invaluable. Equally important has been cultivating a community of like-minded patients, colleagues, and professionals who share a passion for health, performance, and purpose-driven care. Together, they have all played a meaningful role in helping shape BrainSpine Chiropractic into what it is today.
