Today we’d like to introduce you to Edward Shin.
Edward, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I came to the US when I was 30 and completely changed my career to physical therapist. I’ve worked my way from a staff PT to clinic director and joined FIT IN MOTION as a partner in 2019. Since then, I realized not only the clinical side of PT but also the business operation side of physical therapy interested me a lot. We rather aggressively scaled our business to 7 locations in 5 years. 2026 will be our time of settling down and increase the quality of services. As a company, we are very interested in community outreach, corporate wellness, and partnerships with other related industry leaders. I want to bring in new exercises and new treatment methods that are effective and interesting to our patients. I want my company can provide an elevated experience to all of our patients and a pleasant and respectable working place to my staff.
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Even though I sometimes wish for more dramas and struggles just so that I can come out of it as a hero, I wouldn’t say everything was easy breezy. Working as a co-owner comes with its share of challenges, decision making, and hiring right ppl. The first time we decided to open our 2nd location was the hardest. The sacrifices we had to make, risks we had to take and we didn’t have our own clinic, we sublet 2 tiny rooms at a podiatrist’s office, which we really appreciate. The cold shoulders at other providers’ office etc.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
We are physical therapy clinic with fitness business. Founded in 2019, now we have 6 locations in GA and 1 in TN. We have the most 5 star google reviews among all of the physical therapy clinic in GA and we are proud and known for our high level of patient care and service. As a physical therapy company, staying clinically efficient and innovative is crucial. While staying within the principle of physical therapy as a medicine, we try to bring in new exercises and devices from other exercise regimen to provide more diverse and trendy experience to our patients. We are very interested in community outreach, corporate wellness, and partnerships with other related industry leaders. I want my company can provide an elevated experience to all of our patients and a pleasant and respectable working place to my staff.
What makes you happy?
Of course, as a clinician, when a patient gets discharged and back to the life he used to enjoy, that is the most fulfilling. Also, when I see we have built the company culture as healthy and dynamic and patient centered. And also when I see growing followers on my threads account?
