Today we’d like to introduce you to Emily Hall.
Hi Emily, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My name is Emily Hall, I am an Orlando transplant living in beautiful Downtown Chattanooga, TN. In 2018, I found myself faced with a traumatic whirlwind and I was really struggling with my sense of identity. In that season, I realized just how fragile life is and how important it is to not only receive love but to prioritize loving those around me. In my journey of healing, it became staggeringly important to see people through their silent battles and to encourage them along the way. On the other side of my pain, I know truthfully that there is light on the other side, and I am fully committed to seeing others get there.
I wondered how I could practically get to the heart of people, and when I looked inside my “toolbox”, I had always loved and worked in retail. It isn’t a passion for fashion or merchandising but really a passion for people. We opened Savannah Taylor in 2022 as a women’s + maternity store to see women through exciting and challenging seasons in their life. We love to celebrate! Whether you’re shopping for everyday wear, a birthday, wedding or shower — we know you’ll be the best dressed there.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Savannah Taylor was launched during a fairly uncertain time for many people. I am 100% convinced that the world around us needs a place to come and be encouraged. So, although some may think we are crazy for opening a brick-and-mortar, I believe we are doing exactly what we are supposed to on this day. That assurance really helps us along the way.
The weight of responsibility can be heavy. I remember after getting my first order of clothing, I questioned if I should just sell it all to another boutique in town. I was terrified that I wasn’t good enough to do what I was doing. I’m grateful for our community of business owners and friends that others believed in the vision enough to see us through in the beginning.
