Community Highlights: Meet Gabriela Eisenhart of Silo Studios Design

Today we’d like to introduce you to Gabriela Eisenhart.

Hi Gabriela, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my design career and business when I was 26 in 2012. I had just had my 2nd son 17 months after my first son was born and worked full-time. I thought why not throw a little fuel in the fire and start a business too!? I loved interior design, and the process started really organically for me, I just started doing friends’ homes and one thing lead to another. I have a fine art degree but my focus wasn’t actually on Interior Design. I started out just doing furnishing projects but now we do full renovations and build homes from the ground up. I’m a huge fan of the construction process – it just breathes new life. I love giving new life to a space.

In 2012 I started Gabriela Eisenhart Interiors, in 2016 I merged with the west coast and co-founded WAKE + LOOM design and early this year I launched my new brand Silo Studios Design named after my sons Silas and Oscar. We are a full-service design firm and specialize in residential design and boutique commercial projects. My true love is telling people’s stories through their homes, nothing makes me happier.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Smooth road? Nah, I’m from Atlanta where we are known for potholes in the road. I have hit a few potholes but I learn best from my mistakes, It has been a journey and I’ve put in the work, professionally and personally. I am in a really wonderful place right now and am excited to continue on this journey and grow my company and team.

We’ve been impressed with Silo Studios Design, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company, Silo Studios is the Atlanta interior design firm that melds a fresh, modern aesthetic with a premium on comfort to make your home stand out while being eminently livable.

We specialize in Interior Design services from one-room projects to full renovation and construction. We are a one-stop shop and offer project management in addition to our design services.

I believe each project and client are different and I don’t want every project to look the same. I typically come in to modernize and refresh spaces but I believe it’s incredibly important to honor a home’s original architecture. My design aesthetic is clean and eclectic but is a true marriage between my client’s story and the architecture of the home. I want people to walk into a Silo designed space and say wow, this has amazing energy and is a true reflection of the person who lives here. It’s about creating a good experience.

How do you think about luck?
None really. Hard work pays off!

I believe I am where I am because I put in the work. I use to work a full-time job with two babies and come home at night and work on growing the business. I use to work nights and weekends all the time and it put a huge strain on my family life, I’ve since then learned balance and boundaries.

I had the confidence to sprint after my dreams but it has been exhausting, stressful, and challenging at times. I wouldn’t have had it any other way, that’s how you learn and grow.
