Community Highlights: Meet Genia Moses of MCD Boots Inc

Today we’d like to introduce you to Genia Moses

Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
I started MCD boots with my father in mind. I grew up seeing him only wear cowboy boots and when the opportunity was presented it started as trial and error. I tried this company out and after over a year and half turned into a business. I am the Only Black Woman Owned Boot Store in Byram Mississippi. MCD boots blossom on TikTok and has serviced almost every state in the United States. We are preparing a new location in Raymond MS. We offer men, women and children boots also expanding to provide clothing.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
With any new business there will be slow periods but I just kept marketing. My biggest supporters come from Social media and I’m so thankful.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
MCD Boots started from my mother porch and almost two years later has grown into a new location on the busy Hwy 18 in Raymond, Mississippi. This Black Woman Owned Business specializes in boots for the family. I also cater to the working men with steel toe boots. My customer service sets me apart and my love for providing quality products. I want the readers to know they are making history when they purchase from me! This is the first and only Black Woman Owned Boot Store in Byram and Raymond, Mississippi

The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
I learned people shop more online than in person so I make every experience count. You are going to feel the love through my words with every email or phone call with my customers.
