Today we’d like to introduce you to Hope Brown.
Hi Hope, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I actually was doing makeup at first. I’ve always knew how to do a little hair but it wasn’t my passion. I did my friend hair on like just doing something type of thing and it actually came out really cute. From there, I took off with ponytails. I haven’t looked back since. I’m very grateful for where it has taken me. I wouldn’t change anything about it.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road. I’ve had many obstacles along the way. Like I said before, I was a make artist so transitioning to being a full-time hairstylist was very hard for me.
As you know, we’re big fans of TheModelLook. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I am a hairstylist & I specialize in ponytails. I am known for my baby hairs. I feel like what sets me apart is that I have my own look with my ponytails. My clients always come back and tell me people already know who did their hair without them saying a word. I am most proud of that because I’ve made a mark in my city. I want people to know that I will only get better & you will see more of me. I’ve spent long nights perfecting my craft and I have faith that it will be going very far soon. I also provide natural hair services & Glueless Quick weaves etc.
Is there a quality that you most attribute to your success?
Honesty is the best policy for everything you do; integrity creates character and defines who you are. If you want to succeed, if you want to live, it’s not politeness but rather passion that will get you there. Life is 10 percent what you experience and 90 percent how you respond to it.
