Community Highlights: Meet Jae Wyatt of Dr. Jae Haute Homes

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jae Wyatt.

Jae, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
A lover of food, memories, and moments of reflection – helping others find their homes truly is my calling. A native of Georgia and graduate from The University of Georgia (Go Dawgs!), my very first job in college was serving tables at the Last Resort Grill in Athens, GA. As a server, my appreciation for small celebrations, individual stories, hard work and the value of making genuine connections grew. After graduation, I went on to earn a Master’s Degree and Doctoral Degree in Leadership. Being one of five siblings and raised in Henry County, GA, I learned the importance of teamwork and unconditional love. The support of my family not only allowed me to be a first-generation college graduate but also instilled in me how critical it is to finish what you start. My professional background includes experience in salary negotiation, networking, public speaking and law. I have had the pleasure of counseling real estate professionals earning certifications in commercial real estate and real estate development. After a full-time career supporting new attorneys and law students to develop their careers, I decided to take the advice that I had given to so many, “pursue your dream, honey!”. I started by volunteering with the Fulton County Property Tax Project and then went on to earn my real estate salespersons license.

After interviewing several real estate brokerages in the Atlanta area, I fell in love with the Keller Williams Atlanta Midtown office, because of the culture of caring, expansive network, tremendous resources, and dedication to education and training. Assisting others through real estate has been the perfect bridge for my professional background and personal passions. I’ve had the pleasure of connecting with top-notch lenders, attorneys, inspectors and other agents while assisting amazing first-time homebuyers, seasoned attorneys who are relocating to the Atlanta area, and most recently, a couple of entrepreneurs seeking 20+ acres for recreational use. Through meaningful programming such as my Future Homeowner’s Happy Hour, which is held every three months and features Q & A with lenders and down payment assistance program reps., I plan to continue to empower homebuyers and sellers with information, resources and diligence needed to realize their real estate goals. Now, Let’s Get You Home!

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
While I’d love to share a story of adversity from childhood to adulthood, my reality is that the love and support that I received from my family equipped me for the sometimes harsh realities of working and playing as an exceptionally gifted African American female. For example. I’ve spent countless hours reminding individuals in professional settings of my title and credentials (where warranted). Ironically, these individuals seem to remember the requests of others in these settings. My upbringing has taught me that microaggressions such as these have nothing to do with my light and everything to do with the fact that some folks prefer to live in the dark.

Let’s face it, teamwork can be hard.

As a petite person with a huge personality, even bigger brain power and an opulent style, one challenge has been navigating the resentment of others. An unfortunate reality of shining as a person is that it sometimes frightens others. While I’ve had the pleasure of professionally joining a number of teams and collaborating within group settings, I have persevered through non-supportive teammates and colleagues with ill intentions. Again, by continuing to shine and maintaining my outcome-driven approach to tasks, goals and projects, I recognize that the negative behavior that others direct towards me is a clear reflection of how they view themselves.

Thanks mom & dad!

Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
I am the Founder of Dr. Jae Haute Homes, offering bespoke real estate services. Because my background is in contract negotiation, I specialize in ensuring that my clients receive a luxury real estate experience with exceptional value. One of the experiences that I enjoy curating for first-time home buyers and even new clients who are seasoned in real estate are Future Homeowner’s Happy Hour events each quarter which pair great food and beverages from some of the city’s local spots with information on mortgages, and the current real estate market. Most recently, I hosted a happy hour at Ponce City Market’s Bellina Alimentari where future clients enjoyed wine, appetizers, and charcuterie in such a great atmosphere. In collaboration with some of the best lenders in Georgia, my goal is to create an informal space for individuals to connect and map out their individual path to their homeownership goals.

In addition to being known for my attention to detail and reassuring nature, my brand is distinguished by my reputation for maximizing value through contract negotiation and maintaining lifelong connections with my clients. Oftentimes, genuineness and authenticity are removed from the real estate experience. I have the luxury of working in this profession out of enjoyment, therefore I am utterly engaged with my clients regardless of where they are starting out. For the person who is seeking a real estate professional who is resourceful, enjoys listening & celebrating, and is tenacious, my brand aligns perfectly with each of these.
