Hi Jahlinda, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
My story started in middle school actually! My parents became insurance agents in 2002 and since then my father was actively volunteering in the community, leading different organizations and bringing me along from time to time. Well just like the Word says train up a child in the way that they should go and they shall not depart – in 2016, when I graduated with my MBA from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University, I had to decide between a Fortune 500 company or to go back home to Polk County, Lakeland, Florida and work with my family business. Since my job offer was in Cleveland, Ohio and I’m a Florida girl through and through, it was only right that I gave a shot to my family and I committed to helping build our family business. It’s here that I believe I am creating a legacy and my children’s children will not have to ask anyone for a job. Since then, I’ve been with our agency for over five years and every year God has shown me that I am right where I’m supposed to be as your Insurance Bestie!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
No, I wouldn’t say that it has been a smooth road but it has challenged me for the better! I’ve read more books than I would ever imagine, listened to a myriad of motivational speeches, and presented to over 200+ people. So I believe it’s growing my confidence and creating the best version of me. The main struggle is going from working a 9-to-5 to creating my own workday. It takes focus, discipline, and consistency because you’re truly your own boss.

On social media, I’ve been coined the “Life Insurance Queen” and I’m most proud of securing $30 Million in asset protection last year. As of this year, I’ve rebranded to your Insurance Bestie as a more relatable approach because you know we don’t like to talk about life insurance but if we are being real, it is how we can set up our families to create a Legacy of Luxury!
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Technology is changing everything and it has been reported that there’s a huge coverage gap in life insurance for Millennials. 88% of consumers demand more personalized insurance products. So there’s an amazing opportunity to enhance what we offer to the community.
