Today we’d like to introduce you to Jalyn Johnson.
Hi Jalyn, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My Real Estate career started in 2011 when a staffing agency placed me on a temp job at a real-estate law firm. I had just graduated with an associate’s degree in accounting, but I figured I would take this position until I found a job in the field I went to school for. I knew nothing about real estate, but I was determined to expand my knowledge where ever God had led me to. Little did I know that real estate would spark my interest. I started off as a pre-closer and shortly after was “promoted” to manage and oversee over 200 transactions a month for one of the largest investors in the state of Georgia. This position became very demanding and I started to feel guilty not having the mental and physical capacity for my family. I just knew there was something more for me than just working in this kind of atmosphere. God started to highlight the desire of my heart of what I longed for since I became a mother – That was to work but to also be able to have the flexibility to be there for my family as needed. Real Estate sales presented that opportunity. But I was in a tough spot to move forward. At the time I was the only one working as My husband was on a leave of absence from work going on almost a year. With only a small nest egg to fall back on and much prayer and support from my husband, we decided to take a leap of faith and finally put my 2 weeks notice in to study for my real estate sales license exam. Within a month and a half, I was a licensed agent!!
I am licensed in Georgia and Florida. Currently, I am in the process of obtaining my loan officer license. I am constantly finding new ways to Root myself in the real estate industry for the betterment of my client’s needs!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
This road has definitely not been smooth. But that’s what makes my story amazing. I wouldn’t have it any other way. Along the way, I have had so many doubts. I often wondered why I would even go for a career like this. I felt it didn’t even fit my personality. “What made me want to leap into this?” I thought. I know it was only God. He gave me a boldness and resilience to keep trucking through. My husband was such a big supporter and encouraged me along the way. Now after 10 years in the real estate industry, I have helped over 100+ families achieve their real estate goals. As a real estate agent, I have grown so much more confident in myself as a sales agent and in my personal life. With this newfound confidence, it has opened doors for me and my family. Other opportunities of Entrepreneurship. I never thought I could do this! But it just shows that once you overcome yourself (which is the usually our biggest obstacle), then you can do anything y0u set your heart and mind to.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business name is called Rooted Real Estate. Although I have been a Real Estate agent since 2013, my branding and business name came about in 2017. God gave me this name. It’s very special to me. I know with rooting myself in what matters most in every aspect of my life, I’ve gotten the GODFIDENCE I need! It’s a different kind of confidence that has taken me places. I know I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me! Ephesians 3:16-19, Psalms 1:2-3 are other some founding scriptures that led me to choosing the name Rooted Real Estate.

With great understanding of the internal side of the escrow transaction, I have an advantage in my service to my clients. Ultimately, I am pouring my passion into what I love to do – that is to serve others. I am continuously finding strategic ways to ROOT myself in the real estate industry for the betterment of my clients and customers alike.
The crisis has affected us all in different ways. How has it affected you and any important lessons or epiphanies you can share with us?
The COVID-19 Crisis was hard for everyone. It definitely has taught me so much — That life is SHORT. This may be cliche but it’s TRUTH. Don’t waste time!
Another lesson I learned is that sometimes you have to unlearn what you know to learn. You have to adapt. Don’t get so stuck in your ways that you can’t learn from someone, surroundings, circumstance…whatever it may be.
