Today we’d like to introduce you to Jamese Allen.
Jamese, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
Hello, I am Jamese Allen. I was born and raised in Mobile, Alabama. I have two Master’s Degrees, both from The Alabama State University. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, traveling the world, and educating myself.
Growing up, my mom taught me everything she knew about finances, and I knew I wanted to take it even further. After becoming a college graduate, being underpaid, and eventually being forced to leave my job, I found myself at a crossroads. I had no income, no savings, and was drowning in debt.
I remember the moment I said: “enough is enough.”
Ironically, it was when I had zero income that I learned how to manage my money better. Once I got back on my feet, everything changed.
My defining moment came when I started coaching a friend through paying off debt and building savings. Watching her confidence grow, and knowing I played a role in that transformation, sparked something in me. I realized there was a gap in financial education, especially for women, and especially for women who wanted more than numbers on paper, they wanted mindset, accountability, and confidence.
I started Mecie & Company because I realized so many women were struggling with the same things I had been through: saving, budgeting, and building confidence around money. Like many women, I had to learn through experience. I made mistakes, figured things out, and slowly built a healthier relationship with money. Helping people with their finances came naturally to me and it was something I genuinely enjoyed.
I invested in my own education and built a framework that combines mindset, habits, and strategy. Today, Mecie & Company helps women build financial confidence, create realistic plans, and make decisions that support their goals. I built this business while working full-time, navigating life, moving, and even questioning whether I was ready. But every client success reminded me: this is needed.
My mission is simple: to help women feel confident with money, build financial stability, and create lives they are proud of.
I love what I do, because it’s not just about money, it’s about changing how women see themselves. It’s about freedom, opportunity, and legacy. Every time a woman tells me she paid off a bill, grew her savings, or simply feels more in control, it reminds me why I started.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
No, it hasn’t been a smooth road at all and I think that’s the beauty of my story. The challenges are what shaped me into the woman and coach I am today.
One of my biggest struggles was learning how to manage money after losing my income. Being unemployed with no savings and trying to pay bills taught me discipline, patience, and creativity. I had to figure out how to survive on less, how to budget, and how to rebuild from the ground up.
Another struggle was confidence. When I first started Mecie & Company, I battled imposter syndrome. I questioned whether I was ready, whether people would trust me, and whether my story was enough. But every client win reminded me that I had something valuable to offer.
Balancing everything was also difficult working full-time, coaching clients, building a brand, moving, and navigating personal life. There were days when I felt overwhelmed and exhausted. But I knew the work mattered, so I kept going.
There were financial challenges too. Building a business isn’t instant and there were seasons where I had to sacrifice, stay patient, and trust the process.
But I’ve learned that growth happens in the struggle. Every setback taught me something about myself, about money, and about what women truly need in order to feel confident. Today, I am grateful for the hard parts. They gave me purpose, resilience, and a story to help others.
We’ve been impressed with Mecie & Company, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Mecie & Company is a financial coaching business designed to help women build confidence with money. We specialize in helping women create budgets they can actually stick to, save consistently, and reduce debt without feeling overwhelmed or deprived.
What makes us unique is that we focus just as much on mindset as we do on numbers. Money is emotional, especially for women and financial habits are often tied to self-worth, confidence, and past experiences. So instead of just giving rules and spreadsheets, we teach women how to shift their mindset, create new habits, and make decisions that support their goals.
We are known for making finances simple and approachable. You don’t have to understand every financial term or pretend to be perfect. We meet women exactly where they are and help them grow from there.
Our coaching programs provide support, structure, and accountability. Clients receive personalized strategies, weekly or bi-weekly check-ins, and step-by-step guidance. We help women get organized, build savings, pay down debt, and feel in control of their finances.
What I’m most proud of brand-wise is the transformation I see. It’s not just about someone saving money or paying off debt
it’s about watching their confidence grow. Clients tell me they feel lighter, more empowered, and more motivated. They start making better decisions for themselves and their families. That is the true win.
For anyone reading this, I want you to know that financial confidence is possible. You don’t need to be perfect, you just need a plan and support. Mecie & Company exists to help women feel secure, prepared, and proud of the lives they’re building. Whether you’re just starting, rebuilding, or leveling up, we’re here to guide you every step of the way.
Where we are in life is often partly because of others. Who/what else deserves credit for how your story turned out?
I’m a firm believer that none of us succeed alone, and I’ve been blessed with people who have supported, encouraged, and believed in me along the way.
My mother is a huge part of my story. She taught me the basics of money management when I was growing up, and even as an adult she has been a source of wisdom and encouragement. Watching her work hard and make sacrifices shaped my values and my drive.
I’ve also had family/friends who have been incredibly supportive. They were my first “clients,” before I ever charged for coaching, and they trusted me with their goals and their finances. Seeing their results gave me the confidence to take this seriously and turn it into a business.
My clients deserve a lot of credit as well. They show up, do the work, and trust me to guide them. Every win they share whether it’s paying off a credit card, growing their savings, or simply feeling more in control about fuels me to keep going. Their transformation is the reason Mecie & Company exists.
And of course, I have had mentors, teachers, and people in the industry who have poured into me, shared knowledge, and reminded me what’s possible. From coaches to business owners to financial experts, I’ve learned from each of them.
I am grateful for everyone who has played a part in this journey, big or small. Their support has helped me grow not only as a coach, but as a woman, a business owner, and a leader.
