Today we’d like to introduce you to Jehan Muhammad.
Jehan, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I got started in the film industry three years ago as a background actor. I decided to tell my own story as a screenwriter because I wanted to play a character that I could identify with and tell my own story. I also wanted to give people a better understanding of the Islamic way of life to those that may be unfamiliar with it, but in a fun and creative way; that’s what inspired me to create my own production.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way? Looking back, would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
It hasn’t been a smooth road at all, but I’m just getting started. Finding professional and reliable people in the film industry has been a challenge. You will come across a lot of people who say they want to be a part of what you’re doing and work with you, but only a few of them are actually serious, professional, and focused. Staying focused is required at all times because I have a lot of responsibilities in my current position. You also have to have a lot of patience when working with others.

Jehania’s World is a multimedia & production company that serves as the umbrella for all of my creative endeavors. It includes Sirius Sounds Records, my indie record label, and is the hub for everything that I’m doing creatively, mainly in film.
What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
Over the next 5 – 10 years, I see Jehania’s World creating more film projects to represent underrepresented people in the film industry. I love all different types of culture and I love the idea of introducing more culture to the film industry by writing and creating from my own personal perspective.
