Today we’d like to introduce you to Jerry White
Hi Jerry, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m Jerry White, the creator of SIRenity Today, a lifestyle and family blog with a deeper mission—advocating for Black men’s mental health. My journey into self-care, mindfulness, and well-being didn’t start in a place of peace. Like many, I grew up believing that strength meant silence, that vulnerability was weakness. But life has a way of teaching you what truly matters, and for me, that lesson came through my own struggles with mental health.
For years, I carried the weight of unspoken stress, societal expectations, and personal battles. It wasn’t until I actively sought self-care and mindfulness practices that I realized the power of prioritizing my well-being. Meditation, manifestation, prayer, therapy, and intentional living transformed me—and I knew I wasn’t alone in this journey. That’s when SIRenity Today was born.
SIRenity Today is more than just a blog, it’s a platform for real conversations, a space where Black men can feel seen, heard, and supported no matter if they’re single, married, a parent, etc. I share personal stories, resources, and tools that help navigate the complexities of mental health while also celebrating the joys of family, self-improvement, and everyday moments of peace. Breaking the stigma around mental health in the Black community is a mission I hold close to my heart, and I use my platform to encourage men to embrace healing and self-discovery.
Beyond mental health advocacy, SIRenity Today is also a lifestyle and family blog, showcasing the adventures, experiences, and day-to-day moments that make life meaningful. From family travel, outdoor excursions, parenting insights, and wellness tips, we bring stories that inspire connection and exploration. Whether it’s hiking new trails, discovering hidden gems, or simply sharing moments of joy with loved ones, SIRenity Today is about embracing life in all its richness while prioritizing mental and emotional well-being.
Today, I’m proud to say that SIRenity Today has grown into a community—one where open dialogue, self-care, and personal growth are not just encouraged but celebrated. My goal is to continue creating content that inspires, uplifts, and empowers, ensuring that no one feels alone in their journey toward mental and emotional well-being.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
The road to creating SIRenity Today hasn’t been completely smooth, but the main obstacle has been myself. Most of the situations I would run into is allowing myself to be vulnerable with my audience and sometimes still run into it today. The thing that helps me through it is telling myself, “I’m not the only one “growing” through what I’m going through,” which has help me to open up. Only to always see that it helps other’s to open up to me as well about their lives.
The fun part is always the pieces that pertain to my family, fatherhood, marriage and things we do. Even though these things can have their ups and downs as well, I feel it’s always difficult for me to look myself in the mirror and reflect, or question myself in my darkest moments. Even though it can be nerve wrecking, every time I do it, it always helps me to see the light.
So I can honestly say, I’ve come very comfortable being uncomfortable at this point.

Is there anyone you’d like to thank or give credit to?
At the heart of everything I do is my family.
My father instilled in me a relentless work ethic, but more importantly, he taught me the power of balance. Knowing when to hustle and when to prioritize what truly matters. My mother, with her background in social welfare and sociology, was my living guardian angel, shaping my understanding of emotional intelligence and the importance of mental well-being from an early age.
Then, there’s my daughter. My greatest teacher in patience and perspective. She reminds me daily that life is about more than just the present; it’s about the legacy we leave behind.
And last, but certainly not least, my wife, the woman who has stood by me through many peaks and valleys. She has seen me at my lowest, my highest, and every moment in between. Yet, through it all, she has been my anchor, uplifting me with wisdom, offering a listening ear when I need to be heard, and being my peace in the midst of chaos.
Each of them has played a profound role in shaping the person I am today, and for that, I am forever grateful.
