Today we’d like to introduce you to Jessica James.
Hi Jessica, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I moved to Atlanta from Maryland in October 2020. I’d been going back and forth in my mind for a week at my last job. I just knew I wanted more. I was unsatisfied with my life, and I heard Atlanta was the Black Wall street. Atlanta was the land of opportunity, especially for people of color. I woke up one morning and gave 24-hour notice at my job, packed my car found an apartment and moved.
Once I got to Atlanta, I realized my savings dried up, although I was a social worker, I wasn’t making enough to cover my expenses. I knew I always wanted to be my own boss, but I didn’t realize how soon my chance would come. Once I came to ATL, I was introduced to candy hookah tips at Harold’s Chicken and Ice Bar. I instantly loved them, however I wanted to redo the design and infuse them. It took me one week to learn how to create candy hookah tips. From there, I filed for an LLC, created the brand, and it has exploded ever since. TipFusion Infused Candy Hookah Tips are a hit all over Atlanta in hookah stores and nightclubs. TipFusion has expanded to Miami, Philadelphia, New Jersey, Indiana, and Chicago. TipFusion has flourished amidst a pandemic, and I could not be happier.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
In order to create my Infused Candy Hookah Tips, I had to sacrifice paying my bills for a dream no one but me could see. Every dime came from my pockets, no grants or loans. My credit wasn’t where it should be and my credit cards were maxed out. I truly believe what you truly invest in and put into the universe will always come back to bless you. TipFusion exceeded my initial investment within the first two weeks of business. Navigating the business world was and still in tough coming from a place where entrepreneurship was not taught. The lows prepared me for the highs.

TipFusion LLC was founded in November 2020. Our business focuses on elevating the hookah experience with candy hookah tips. TipFusion Candy Hookah Tips are the 1st in the business to offer infused candy hookah tips. All candy tips are hand-made in the USA with quality juicy hard candy blends. We strive to provide just the right amount of sweetness which can be sold separately or infused with CBD or alcohol to elevate your hookah experience without overbearing your taste buds. We have six flavors and create candy tips for special occasions, celebrity events, smoke shops, hookah lounges, night clubs, and individual consumption. I’m proud of this brand because we have a high-quality product, our consumers love it, and we love elevating our consumer’s experience. The founder Jessica James is a social worker by specialty and wanted a product that allows the consumer to fully enjoy the hookah experience, which can be a relaxing escape for some.
Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
I have learned to truly capitalize during the Covid-19 crisis. Many people are now in their homes and on social media more often. I produced a product that doesn’t solely rely on business in a busy night club but one that can be sold wholesale all across the U.S. Although I had to change course in the middle of opening the business, becoming a wholesaler was the best business decision for me.
