Hi Joe, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been building businesses that bring people happiness and healing. It became more present in my every day while caring for my mother during her successful battle with cancer that my focus turned to CBD and other hemp-derived natural wellness products. Witnessing how it helped her, I wanted to shift my professional mission to something that would serve the greater good. I just thought it wrong to deny medical cannabis in favor of dangerous opioids and other brutal pharmaceuticals, so here I am trying to do something about it.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Anyone who tells you running a small business is a smooth road is either telling you a quick answer so they can get back to what they need to get done, or they don’t have anything better to say. We chose an especially difficult path with the cannabis industry. Everything from our business licensing to leases and even banking has been a struggle, but once we find a reliable partner, we stick with them. People hear The Georgia Hemp Company or even hemp or cannabis in general, and there is such a stigma- even today when there need not be. We spend more time educating and helping people than anything. If people looked into all that is out there about cannabinoids and their therapeutic benefits, the road for our business and those like us would be much smoother.
