Community Highlights: Meet Jornae Grove of GrandLuxWM

Today we’d like to introduce you to Jornae Grove

Hi Jornae , thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I grew up in the beautiful city of Harrisburg Pennsylvania, I always knew I wanted to be a police officer as a young age however I always had a back up career goals just in case my life didn’t plan out that way. Police officer, Bartender or Massage Therapist.

However growing up my Grandmother Michelle was my best friend (still in counting). She and I would always bond with each other and rubbing her feet, and back was one of our bonding moments. I became her personal masseuse, I used to literally massage her, uncle Drum, my brother Jordan and my beautiful mother Georgia. Fast forward I always had the skill, I was the friend who offered my service anytime someone neck, back or feet hurt and I said you know what it’s time to get this show in motion and really take this seriously.

I stated taking clients the ending of 2022, I started in a suite taking clients and now 2024 I’m able to do this full time and take care of myself 100% solely on my own, I’m able to travel whatever I want to, taking clients all over the state of Georgia and I was blessed with opportunities to fly out of Atlanta to go see my clients who adore and love my work. Being able to travel to do a job is amazing.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
A lot of people ask me how am I able to be comfortable around people, not be shy or scared or anything? But when you have a high level of discernment, and love for your craft you can make decisions that’s best for you and others involved. We all take a risk everyday, driving to work, going to the mall and hell we now live in a society where anything can happen to any one at any given time. Am I supposed to be scared every day ? No. However I remain safe and use my gut feeling. Trust me I had to deny a lot of people than I take as clients. It’s been a smooth road getting to where I am of course but people who do what I do, we know and understand the easiest part was getting here.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
I came up with the name ‘GrandLuxWM’ when I first started, the W stands for ‘WAX’ and M is ‘MASSAGE’. I used to wax and decided to take Massages Full Time. I still wax my clients that are grandfathered in lol.

However I think it matches my aesthetic, I give a great vibe when my clients come, I go over and beyond. You’re not just coming in to a bed and sheet. No I make sure every client feels different from other companies because they could be anywhere else but they put trust in me.

I specialize in Deep Tissue, I have a lot of clients who are gym rats and come to me at the end of their workout week and that makes me feel most proud that after a long week you come to me weekly, I’m proud of where I’m going. I plan to take this journey further. I offer beverages, hot oils, hot towels, nice wines and hookah for my real native Atlanta clients that know that’s how we roll. lol.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
Honestly the network and connections of this city is crazy. We know Atlanta is not a real place.

My mother moved my sister and I here and if it wasn’t for the change i don’t know where my life would be. But I’m glad I was able to meet those who support me and love me.

There’s no need to say what I dislike about Atlanta this is a positive safe space and I want to keep it that way.

Atlanta is what you make it. Make it. We full.
