Today we’d like to introduce you to Joseph Faxio
Hi Joseph, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
I grew up in a family of ministers, so when It came to finding a career, I wanted to do something that was meaningful and impactful. It has been my experience that few things impact people more than their finances. So that’s what lead me to this industry, and what I love about this business, the ability to do something that really matters in some else life. I started at Ameriprise in their development program and over my 17 year career I have done stents at a few shops including Merrill Lynch and Morgan Stanley, In 2022 I decided to partner with equitable to launch my own firm, Faxio Private Wealth.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
So definitely had a few bumps in the road, my first couple attempts to build a wealth management business didn’t go so well. I had to leave both Ameriprise and Merrill Lynch because I couldn’t grow my business fast enough.

We are a boutique firm that provides comprehensive planning & wealth management for individuals and businesses. For individuals we specifically help with retirement planning, investment management, estate planning and risk management. For firms, we help set up retirement plans and executive compensation plans. Due to our ability to serve both individuals and business, we are uniquely positioned to work with entrepreneurs, business owners and professional service firm proprietors. Our clients have told us that our individualized and high touch service model sets us apart.
Any advice for finding a mentor or networking in general?
Don’t be afraid to ask for help, you will be surprise how many people (especially successful people) are willing to give you advice and guidance. That’s what has worked for me, I have asked for a lot of meetings and asked for a lot of help. Don’t underestimate the power of your community, ie. church, fellow alumni and etc. to support you.
