Today we’d like to introduce you to Joshua Ware.
Hi Joshua, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
How I started my clothing brand, it all started back in 2002 when I was in High School. When one of my friends asked me why you never have on a shirt or when you do have on a shirt. It’s always a white tee shirt or black tee shirt with nice creased up Jeans and nice shoes my friend then proceeded to ask me why don’t you wear polo, nautical, etc. I stated to my friend why wear their clothing when I can wear my own clothing not that I have a problem with wearing other clothing. I always wanted to wear my own clothing. I already had the vision and the logo in my head but life got really hard for me when I lost the most important person in my life, my mother and I also had my first oldest son Joshua Ware Jr while still attending school and playing sports Football and running track life just started moving really fast so I was forced to grow up early and become a man at a young age.
As time went on because we all know time doesn’t wait on anyone so many years went by and I never got the chance to start my clothing brand until 2020 when I faced hardship in my life. God broke me down to my lowest to show me what I was doing wrong and what I needed to start back doing so I went back to church while sitting in church. It dawned on me I needed to put God back in everything I do so I came up with (God’s Plan Is Better Than Our Plan) and from there everything started flourishing so I went to printing shirts and making Family Friend’s and Love One’s happy at that moment something came to me when my mom past away we released the Dove Birds when the Dove birds was released one of the Dove birds went up and turn back around to us that’s when I came up with the name JayDove. So I created a logo with a J and a Dove bird attached to it while in school everyone was already calling me JayDove so the name just stuck and I brought it to reality. So I started connecting with people from overseas making my clothing from scratch so for about a year in a half I went to making sweatsuits, hoodies, t-shirts, beanie hats, women two piece sets, kid’s sets, and men’s sets so in my second year. I came up with the name KingDoveApparel because we as men are all kings I love the Dove meaning because it’s such a powerful meaning behind it. When the Dove return with an olive branch in its beak that was a sign that life would start over. My brand represents new beginnings, new starts, peace, love, hope, dedication, and rebirth. I have been on my journey for three in half years now nothing ever comes easy you just have to stay humble and stay dedicated to your vision.
Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I really can say nothing is ever smooth in life. Nothing in life ever comes easy you have to put in the work. The struggles along the way that I faced taking care of a family of seven while still working and staying true to your vision, not ever giving up. It’s always hard when no one is supporting you, especially when we are from the same hood and grew up together but if you focus on that you will never get to where you need to be. Just keep pushing and putting God First; everything else will fall into place.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
My business is my clothing brand that I am trying to bring from the bottom to the top. I come up with new trending clothing that’s popular. I sit and customized clothing on my computer or my phone. I proceeded to place my creativity on shirts, hoodies and sets I then placed and advertised on social media or out in public to get feedback on what people think. I am known for my clothing brand. I am known on social media for saying (YesSuhhhhh) Giving All Prays To My Heavenly Father when I am making a post or advertising. I am known for bringing love & Loyalty and great energy and most importantly, keeping it solid and 💯 at all times most importantly, taking care of my family. Well, what truly sets me apart from others I am a leader never been a follower. I stay in my own lane, I love doing what others say I can’t, I love pressure because pressure makes you beast. I am very proud of my brand because it’s different and unique. I am happy that I stuck to my vision and now the world gets to see what I bring to the table. I want the readers to really sit back and look into my brand. My brand is very different; my brand really have a great meaning to it, I offer premium quality, great customer service and trustworthy.
What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
What I like about my city is that of course, it’s the sunshine state and everyone loves to travel and come here on vacation to enjoy the great weather. I love my city; when we do pull together, everything flows great but just like anywhere else, you have the good, the bad, and the ugly. The least thing I do not like about my city is that everyone just can not keep it real. Everyone always have negative things to say, even when the person is doing good. My city only claps for certain people instead of showing love to everyone because we all trying to make it and make our family happy and put on for our city.
