Hi Joy, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
Hey guys, I am so happy to be here. Just a little appetizer of who Joy is and what Be The Difference Clothing is all about. My e-commerce business is based out New Jersey. I have always been about unity and support. It all started from me sharing my weakness of snacking after the gym. Long story short, I posted my weakness on social media and my relative basically said that should be a t-shirt. I ran with it and 7+ years later Be The Difference Clothing stands. It has transformed from t-shirts, fitness tops, onesies, a ringtone, custom socks (which we are known for) and more recently published quotes books. You see; if we pay attention and allow our fires to be ignited by humanity, who knows how far and great you can become. Who knows if just a simple comment can lead you to your purpose. I make it my duty to try to say meaningful things because if it can happen to me, why not you??
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Nothing great/good/human-related is a smooth road. I encourage everyone to stay committed to their desires. Even if it changes a little, stay committed and watch how the floodgates open. I created a design called A Paycheck is NOT a PASSION! That alone is a conversation in itself. Lol.
We’ve been impressed with Be The Difference Clothing, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Be The Difference Clothing is an inspirational clothing brand. Established in August of 2013 and still growing to this day. We donate 10% of all clothing sales to Hayden’s Heart charity. They raise awareness and provide aid to families who have lost children to congenital heart disease. Our specialty is to inspire through written messages on clothing. We believe you become what you absorb. We are especially known for our custom socks. Only 12 pairs exist and when they are sold, none are reprinted. Why not have something that only few people in the world can have? The great thing about it is that anyone has access to these socks. Have you learned any interesting or important lessons due to the Covid-19 Crisis?
COVID taught the importance of having multiple streams of income. How much people desire to be loved, understood and heard. It absolutely taught me how to tighten up all of my affairs, especially Be The Difference Clothing. Lastly, it taught me that humanity will only be sustained by humanity.
