Today we’d like to introduce you to Juliana Henao.
Hi Juliana, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
When I came to the USA as an immigrant, I started out cleaning houses and offices. However, I was not satisfied as I was a professional social worker in my home country, and I wanted to continue my career. Throughout the years, I worked several different jobs. Then, I had the opportunity to work in the social work field. I got several certificates, including being a Life Coach and a Master´s degree in Project Management.
Fast forward to the Covid-19 Pandemic when things changed, and I had time to reflect on my talents and strengths, as well as my career. I realized that I enjoy providing a clean and organized home for my family and friends, so it only made sense to offer the same high standards of cleanliness to others. I decided to make a change and build my own business: a cleaning agency. I took this opportunity as a personal project. With my new business, I can take advantage of my skills, generate income, and provide jobs for other women.
Even though people around me told me not to go back to cleaning houses and offices, I felt like it was the right path for me to create a cleaning agency that could provide this service to others. Although it has not been an easy journey, today I am happy because my business has provided cleaning service in the metro Atlanta area for a year now.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
This has not been a smooth journey. This business was 100% self-funded, and we started without any clients during a pandemic. We’ve only been open for business a year, and the growth has been slower than expected.
Another struggle has been to get the just pay for our services. It’s been tough to get people to see the work and value that we provide.
We hope that our standing work and customer service shines through, and we only continue to go up from here.

At M&J Cleaning Agency, we care about providing our clients with the best service and the best customer experience. I plan to grow my business by maintaining the steady growth in residential cleaning and expanding into the commercial focus.
