Community Highlights: Meet Justin Jenkins of True Flow Chiropractic

Today we’d like to introduce you to Justin Jenkins.

Hi Justin, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
Growing up in Metro-Detroit, Michigan, I was always active and sports were a huge part of my life. But with that came a lifetime of injuries. After years of just pushing through the pain, I finally walked into a chiropractic office in Farmington, Michigan, not really knowing what to expect. That one visit changed everything. I was blown away by how much better my body functioned when well adjusted. That experience lit a fire in me, I knew I wanted to dedicate my life to helping other people find that same freedom. From there, I went on to earn my Doctor of Chiropractic degree from Life University, where I focused on neurologically based chiropractic care. I became really passionate about the relationship between the brain and the body, making sure the nervous system can communicate clearly and efficiently, because that’s where true health starts.

We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I had grown up with my family around, however, it felt like I had raised myself and taught myself to be who I am today. My dad was not in the picture, and my mom and grandma both passed by the time I was 14. I struggled dealing with the emotions and grief of so much loss so soon, it was tough to plan my future because it seemed like things were going to keep falling around me, no matter what I did. I leaned into doing things to make me happy, such as spending time with friends or family, staying active, and learning as much about the world as I could. I had also learned to be resilient, and I wish now that I’m able to pass on that resilience and support to my community.

Thanks – so what else should our readers know about True Flow Chiropractic?
At True Flow Chiropractic, the mission is to help people feel, move, and live better, while making sure that care is accessible to everyone who needs it.
I provide personalized, evidence-informed care for individuals and families, whether someone is managing chronic pain, recovering from an injury, or simply wants to optimize how their body functions day to day. Every patient who walks through my door deserves to feel heard, and that’s the standard I hold myself to with every single visit.
What sets True Flow apart is the focus on neurologically based chiropractic care. I’m not just treating symptoms — I’m working to make sure the brain and body are communicating the way they should be, because that’s where lasting change happens.
One of my biggest goals this year is reaching young adults who, like me, may have never considered chiropractic before. I know firsthand what’s possible when you finally discover it. I don’t want cost or confusion to be the reason someone misses out on that. That’s why I’m committed to making care at True Flow both affordable and predictable, so people can invest in their health without the stress of not knowing what to expect.

We’d love to hear about any fond memories you have from when you were growing up?
One of my favorite childhood memories is making the varsity soccer team as an underclassman. The team was incredibly competitive and spots were limited, and I was going up against juniors and seniors who had a clear size advantage on me. There was no guarantee I’d even make the roster, let alone crack the starting lineup. But I had put in the work, that entire summer, I didn’t miss a single conditioning session, practice, or scrimmage. I went into tryouts hopeful, but I knew it would come down to my summer preparation. At the end of the day, I battled through it and earned my spot in the starting lineup.
