Hi Karisma, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
As a professional basketball player, I’ve lived in countries people only dream of visiting, created awesome memories, made new friends and nights I can’t remember. However, the downside of that lifestyle is unless you’re madly in love or a mom, you are very literally alone in a foreign country.
I found that no matter how many game nights or holiday dinners I had at my apartment; my foreign house still didn’t feel like home. Your home should FEEL like an Oasis, regardless of where you are or what you do. When I arrived home after a long day, it was candles helped fill that void for me. Whether it’s the light they omit or the fragrance that strokes your nose, without a doubt my spirit felt better with candle vibrations permeating the air.
A special ode to one of my favorite countries, Khaim comes from the Hebrew slang term “Haim Shelli” which means my love or my life. My personal love and affinity for luxuriously warm moods envelops each hand-poured Khaim Co. candle. As a wise ass woman once said, “When it smells good, you feel good” and that’s a fact!
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It has all been a tremendous learning experience. Your research, start your legal entity, have an amazing product and think that that’s all there is to running a successful business. But the learning process doesn’t stop just because you started your business. You have to constantly pivot and figure it out – your business depends on it.
When I initially started my business, I was a one woman show and still playing basketball overseas. I had to have enough candles in stock for me to be away from the business for six months out of the year and trustworthy people in place to ship orders out the right way and in a timely manner.
I also moved a few times since starting my business which I would not recommend, lol but it’s all been a part of my journey.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
At Khaim Co. we are all about women loving themselves right where they are. We forget to stop and smell the candles, smell the flowers and be thankful for our progress because we are always working towards the next thing. Our two best-selling collections, the Queen Collection and the Love Collection are a celebration of just that.
Our candles are eco-friendly made using coconut soy wax. They feature no dyes, additives or phthalates. This month we are releasing themed beezwax melts, incense and incense holders.
At any events we are at, we accept used candle jars to recycle, as glass is 100% recyclable. We also offer custom candles, private label candles and custom wax melts for any occasion.

I’m currently reading three books.

3. Mark Manson “The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck”
I also have my daily bible app. They all contribute to me not going mad between juggling my corporate job, relationship and business.
