Community Highlights: Meet Kathy & Adam McCaffrey of Kathy Adams Salon

Today we’d like to introduce you to Kathy & Adam McCaffrey.

Hi Kathy & Adam, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
We opened our salon in the Mall of Georgia in August of 1999. It being a new beginning for us, we opened our doors with no existing clientele and built our business from scratch. This required dedication to ongoing education for myself and my staff and providing excellent service for our customers. We became recognized 8 times as being on of the Top 200 fastest growing salons in North America! We contributed this growth to our biannual photo shoots held for the hairstyling magazines which showcased our work.
After 10 years in the mall we moved to our current location and we’ve been there for 15 years where we’ve been recognized each year as Best of Gwinnett.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been struggles, sometimes multiple stylists will leave at the same time. Every struggle teaches you something, so I learn from it what I can and continue to move forward.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
We are a Redken Black Elite salon- the highest level and one of only 6 in the state of Georgia. We provide all types of hair services including extensions- k-tips, tape ins, sew ins.
We have served Buford and the surrounding areas for over 25 years. My husband and I are both hands on with the salon, and our care and commitment sets our salon apart.

What matters most to you? Why?
Providing a space where everyone feels welcomed, safe, accepted , special and beautiful. This is what drives me. Hair is the vehicle for me to do what I love- which is take care of people.
Everyone needs a moment to feel heard, special and beautiful.
