Today we’d like to introduce you to Kayleigh Butler.
Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
As a child, I was always extremely creative. I particularly had an interest in beauty and fashion very early on. At the tender age of 5, my mother taught me how to braid and from there, my attention to hair care grew.
Once in high school, I had the opportunity to attend the Career Center my junior and senior year of schooling. By March of my senior year, I was a licensed Master Cosmetologist and began working in hair salons. This carried me all throughout college. After college, I moved to Atlanta, Georgia, from Ohio and began building my career.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
I truly believe I am walking in my purpose, and I’ve been divinely guided through the process of building my career. Life has its difficulties, right? So, nothing is ever really a smooth road.
When you’re doing something you love, something that comes naturally, rarely do I focus on the difficulties. It’s important to roll with the punches if there is a greater impact at the end of the journey.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about SimplySlayed Beauty Boutique?
In November of 2023, I had the honor of opening my first full-service salon. After nearly a decade of building my brand in salon suites, last year garnered the perfect opportunity to have a storefront.
SimplySlayed Beauty Boutique is a full-service hair salon specializing in natural hair, hair extensions, locs, braids, and kids’ and men’s services. My brand is known for its exceptional customer service and quality of service.
I am most proud of opening my salon through hard work and dedication. I took no shortcuts and had a lot of nos before this, yes. This opportunity shaped me to be the business owner I am today. Now, with six other stylist working under my brand, I’d say I’m fostering an environment for others to live out their dreams just as I did!
What does success mean to you?
I would define success as accomplishing a goal or achieving something within your purpose. Success can be measured whether the accomplishment is big or small. If you put your heart and mind to achieving it, that’s a success.
