Today we’d like to introduce you to Kelley Bowen
Hi Kelley, thanks for sharing your story with us. To start, maybe you can tell our readers some of your backstory.
I’m Kelley Bowen, founder of Group Creative, a brand strategy and creative consultancy built for purpose-driven businesses. I’m a proud UGA grad who spent several years living and working in NYC before making the move back to Atlanta to be closer to family and feel more connected to community. New York was an incredible place to grow my career, but there’s something special about Atlanta — the energy, the creativity, and the way people show up for each other. I love being part of this city’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, where so many talented people are building, innovating, and making things happen. Beyond my work with brands, I stay involved in local creative and business communities, volunteering with organizations that support small businesses and emerging entrepreneurs. I live here in Atlanta with my husband Oliver and our dog Juniper, and when I’m not deep in branding projects, you can probably find me exploring new restaurants, painting, planning our next international adventure, or supporting local makers and small businesses.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
I don’t think any creative or entrepreneurial journey is truly smooth — it’s more of a winding road with unexpected detours. One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned is that clarity comes from action. Early in my career, I felt like I had to have everything figured out before making a move, but I’ve realized that momentum builds by doing — testing ideas, refining, and evolving along the way. Another challenge has been learning to balance creative work with business strategy. It’s easy to get lost in the creative process, but as a business owner, you have to constantly zoom out and make sure the work is aligning with your goals and your core values. Through it all, I’ve found that the best opportunities come from building relationships, staying curious, and being open to change.
As you know, we’re big fans of Group Creative. For our readers who might not be as familiar what can you tell them about the brand?
I run Group Creative, a brand strategy and creative consultancy that helps businesses build intentional, purpose-driven brands. Whether I’m working with a startup laying the foundation for their identity or an established company refining their presence, our focus is always on creating branding that is both strategic and scalable. What sets Group Creative apart is that we don’t just make things look good — we build brands that work by aligning design, messaging, and positioning in a way that feels natural and true to the business. I also believe in meeting brands where they are. Not every company is ready for a massive rebrand, which is why we offer consulting and smaller-scale services to give businesses the tools they need to grow at their own pace. Whether you’re in the early stages of developing your brand or looking for ways to refine and grow, I’m always up for a conversation. And if you’re in Atlanta, let’s grab coffee — I love meeting people who are building, creating, and making an impact in this city!
Any big plans?
Right now, my focus is on growing Group Creative and continuing to help businesses build strong, purpose-driven brands. The company is still in its early stages, and I’m excited to see how it evolves as we work with more clients and expand what we offer. My goal is to reach as many businesses as possible — whether through full-scale brand development, consulting, or smaller creative packages that meet them where they are. I’m looking forward to deepening relationships within Atlanta’s entrepreneurial community and collaborating with more founders who are passionate about what they’re building. No major shifts planned, just continuing to do the work I love and helping businesses bring their brands to life in a way that feels authentic and strategic.
