Alright, so thank you so much for sharing your story and insight with our readers. To kick things off, can you tell us a bit about how you got started?
For a very long time, before the thought of having a skincare line came about, I use to make vegan skincare and hair care products for myself as well as my family. I have always suffered from sensitive skin and any products I would get from the store would irritate my skin and leave it dry and blotchy. I started researching plant-based products and essential oils that has proven healing results.
I started giving samples to my friends at work and they would always come back to me with great reviews. Now, as an adult, this is the best my skin has ever looked after years of buying products and dermatology visits. I not only save myself money but I knew the products I was using would heal my skin problems. I did a test run with my products and almost a year later, I gave birth to Kingdom Kosmetics and Skincare.
Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
The road has not been easy at all, but I appreciate every obstacle along the way. There has been many restlessness nights and long days. I handle everything business-related myself, so it has been a trial and error process. I had a very strict startup budget so I became the owner, marketing director, social media manager, accountant, etc all at once and invested a lot of money along the way. Sometimes business is much slower than I expected but that’s when I have to hold on to my dream and that’s what keeps me going. Everyone who as ever ordered from me and provided awesome feedback is the reason I keep going.
We’ve been impressed with Kingdom Kosmetics and Skincare, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Kingdom Kosmetics and Skincare is a plant-based/all-vegan skincare line that offers healing results you can see. You do not have to ever worry about if you are causing more harm than help when using my products. Each product is 100% handmade and was carefully formulated to help all skin types. It is sensitive enough for all ages and is also unisex. I want my products to help build confidence in my customers to appreciate the skin they are in. In today’s society, everybody is “beat to the God’s”, but I want you to feel just as beautiful with a bare face and skin.
How do you think about happiness?
Happiness just waking up everyday. I have experienced a lot of unexpected death and when my aunt was killed before she was able to do everything she set her mind to, I made it my purpose to live in the moment and do things with no hesitation. So even on the days where I don’t have the energy or the enthusiasm to complete a task, I keep pushing through because tomorrow is never promised and when I leave, I want to be able to say I attempted everything I wanted to.
