Today we’d like to introduce you to Kyle Korelishn.
Hi Kyle, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
My interest in entrepreneurship really started with my Dad. He built his business from scratch with an incredibly strong work ethic, and I saw firsthand what hard work and being able to forge your own path looked like. Growing up I also really enjoyed filming & editing videos and being able to affect all different parts of the creative process. So the industry and niche I’m in happens to be a personal passion.
I moved to Atlanta from Florida in 2006 for college and fell in love with the city. Prior to graduating I had met my business partner and written the business plan, which was a very serendipitous connection that being here afforded me. 13 years and many evolutions later, Bread n Butter has become a prominent force in the creative landscape.
What’s been great about Atlanta is that it’s always growing and there’s a strong business mindset here that’s very authentic and supportive. We have such incredible diversity of people, industry, and so many positive things overlapping; geography, academics, culture, natural resources, climate and more. And everyone here, whether born or transplanted, embraces a mindset of rising and elevating. People are willing to meet and listen. There’s no pretense that you might find in other big cities, which has been an incredible environment to establish and build a company in.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
“No one has ever learned anything from success” has become a beloved mantra. 13 years in, there has been a lot of learned lessons and evolution.
There were familiar young / small business challenges- cashflow crunches, sunsetting of many products & offerings, etc. One struggle particular to our business was trying to find a quicker way to have potential clients engage us relative to the amount of talent I always knew our team had. The only solve was over delivering on opportunities given to us, and over time we built our portfolio up project by project.
But being able to stay afloat, keep people employed and continue to evolve and grow through challenges has afforded us a ton of experience and knowledge. The callus developed from those struggles and embracing a mindset of always finding a way to move forward has become invaluable.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Bread n Butter Content Studio is a specialized creative agency focused on full-service video and content creation. We bridge the gap that often exists between the scope with agencies of record and the bandwidth of internal teams – we’re able to step in and deliver high-quality, scalable storytelling and creative.
As the brand and enterprise communications landscape has moved beyond TV spots and press releases, partners particularly in the corporate & brand space leverage our skillsets to build out messages that land. We’re able to take nuanced, technical, or deeply human stories and turn them into cinematic content that both informs and connects—for both internal and external audiences.
Over the years, we’ve been fortunate to work in a wide variety of industries to bring to life all sorts of projects. Everything from industrial manufacturer hiring needs, to complex healthcare service line storytelling, to SaaS testimonials- all produced in meaningful narratives.
We’re excited to keep growing with our partners in Atlanta and beyond as audiences continue to crave human centered video as a medium of entertainment and information. As AI and technology start to transform the creative industry, staying nimble allows us to evolve without losing focus. We believe that meaningful creative work and strong strategic partnership with agencies like ours will always be central to how brands and companies communicate.
What does success mean to you?
Success can come in many forms, it doesn’t have to be tied to some large monetary figure, a giant result, or a big promotion. I think it’s important to take stock of the effort expended towards something. If someone shows up with a goal, gives an effort and builds resiliency I think that’s a success worth celebrating. Small wins compound.
