Today we’d like to introduce you to Lacey Page.
Lacey, we appreciate you taking the time to share your story with us today. Where does your story begin?
I was born in Augusta, GA… raised in Aiken, SC… and my family relocated to Atlanta when I was in my early teens. It’s been home ever since. I am the oldest of three, and if you ask my siblings, they would probably say I’m the cliched “bossy-big-sis”. I attended middle school in Atlanta, but shortly after, my mom made the decision to homeschool my brother and me. It was by no means as trendy then as it was now; my mom took a lot of flack for that decision. However, with the factors she was faced with at the time, it was for the best. Anecdotes like that about my upbringing really remind me of all the ways I absorbed certain characteristics. My mom holds firmly to any of her convictions/commitments and navigates adversity with so much grace. My father always encouraged us to believe no desire of our heart was off limits. “Why not you?”, he would often remind us. He approached life with audacity and confidence.
From this vantage point of my life, I can clearly see so many traces of that in my own decisions and how I’ve grown as a professional. I’ve not really taken a linear/traditional path to any of my successes. When my parents went through a divorce (they later remarried – story for another time), I left college to enter the workforce and help support my family through that transition. Worked my way up from working in the store of a cellular provider to joining the corporate office in training and project management roles. I entered the Air Force late in life (by traditional assessments) at 26 with a focus on investing in myself, diving headfirst into a new experience, and gaining an education with student loan debt. I served for 10 years in the reserves. On the civilian side, I had now obtained a degree, secured my Project Management Professional Certification, and was making a comfortable six-figures in corporate America. Then 2020 comes tiptoeing along, and I find myself laid-off at seven months pregnant… stressed for obvious reasons but also so terribly drained and jaded from my experience in that industry. I vowed I would never allow myself to be solely dependent on a job again that I could so easily be dismissed from. If you know me, you know I don’t play about having the ability to take care of my family. Obtaining my real estate license was something I had always wanted to accomplish. Yet, in the throws of managing personal issues, a corporate career, and a military one – that aspiration was so easily dismissed because of a lack of bandwidth.
Being stuck at home, very pregnant with the world on pause in so many ways, created the perfect incubator for me to revisit that passion. I took a week and a half course online (bootcamp style) and shortly after I had successfully passed my licensing exam on the first try at almost 9 months pregnant. I have leaned into real estate ever since and not once have I regretted the decision to make it a primary profession. Holistically, it feeds so many verticals of who I am… a multi-passionate entrepreneur… a creative… a challenge seeker… I lavish any opportunity to be a perpetual student… wealth building, investment and legacy paramount… I love being a resource, problem-solver and learning about the stories/experiences of others… I desire to share my insights/knowledge with others to help them shortcut paths I’ve navigated… now, as a mother, schedule flexibility and professional autonomy is profoundly crucial for me. Real estate is a vehicle that is allowing me to touch all those areas of what I value in a myriad of ways.
There’s a saying that my mom introduced me to that I always try to anchor my focus back to, “I shall pass this way but once; any good that I can do or any kindness I can show to any human being; let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again”. My family has endured so many core/nuclear losses in the most tragic and sudden ways the last few years (my father, Bryan Page Sr., being among them) – the weight and realness of that quote are so palpable to me now. I stand on their shoulders still, I am because they were and find motivation in the idea that I am still carrying on the torch of many of their dreams. I endeavor to remember that legacy isn’t just in what you achieve – but it is more succinctly defined in the ways your character will be remembered and how you impacted others… What example in this world can your life be?
I branded my real-estate business “Luxe With Lace”, not because I was focusing on price-points, but in hopes of bringing awareness to the luxury of a good experience, to remind others of the magic and luxury to be found in the everyday… this life. My life. Your life… it is indeed a luxury. Let’s revel in it as such!
We all face challenges, but looking back, would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
Definitely not a smooth road! There were a few bumps and detours along the way. My upbringing, while unconventional in many ways, instilled valuable traits like independence and adaptability. However, leaving college to support my family during a difficult time was a turning point that forced me to accelerate that growth – not only as a young adult but also as a professional.
Later on, even though I’d climbed the corporate ladder and achieved success, the feeling of being laid off while pregnant was incredibly stressful. It highlighted the lack of control I had in that environment.
But here’s the thing: those challenges became stepping stones. All of my collective experiences and the importance of providing for my family instilled a fierce work ethic and determination to carve my own path. The corporate layoff became the push I needed to finally pursue my real estate license, a dream I’d held for a long time.
Looking back, the struggles made me appreciate the flexibility and autonomy that real estate offers even more. It allows me to be a present Mom and pursue my passions, all while building a fulfilling career. So, while it wasn’t always easy, and the trajectory was far from linear, the challenges ultimately led me to a place of greater purpose and satisfaction.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Luxe With Lace?
Ultimately, I believe luxury is simply about evoking a feeling. It’s not about focusing on being exclusive, the sprawling estate or the exotic car – it’s about how those things make you feel. How they make you view yourself… When you 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 – you understand that you have to tools necessary, no matter where you are in life, to simulate that feeling once you correct your perspective. And when you figure out how to exist in that frequency everyday – the “𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬” will come and you’ll have to proper stance on where the real value of your life is as well. For that reason, Luxe With Lace focuses on the human experience, celebrating the magic and “luxury” of your life. To include finding the perfect place to call home.
What I believe sets me apart?
Client-Centric Experience: It’s not about price points; it’s about building relationships and understanding your unique needs and dreams. I become a trusted resource, a problem-solver, and someone who truly cares about your journey. I’m invested in my client’s success and take it personally.
Passionate & Multi-faceted: My background as a multi-passionate professional translates into a diverse skillset. I’m a creative and a perpetual learner, which allows me to approach challenges and opportunities from a unique angle, always seeking the best outcome for my clients.
Legacy & Empowerment: Family is a core value for me. Recently, experiencing profound loss has emphasized the importance of leaving a positive impact. Through real estate, I strive to empower my clients on their path to building their own legacy, whether it’s their dream home, a wise investment, or a fresh start.
What I’m most proud of brand-wise? It’s more than a catchy name. I branded my real-estate business “Luxe With Lace”, not because I was focusing on price points, but in hopes of bringing awareness to the luxury of a good experience, to remind others of the magic and luxury to be found in the everyday. This life. My life. Your life… it is indeed a luxury. Let’s revel in it as such!
What I want readers to know? Real estate isn’t just a transaction; it’s a life-changing moment. It’s a thread in the story of your life that cannot only be a catalyst for building a home and making memories. I can also be the beginning of smart investing and wealth-building. Whether you’re buying, selling, or investing, you should be partnered with someone who has the ability to guide you through the journey with care, expertise, and a true appreciation for the significance of your decision.
Before we let you go, we’ve got to ask if you have any advice for those who are just starting out.
Hold onto your vision, but don’t be afraid to pivot! My path wasn’t linear, and that’s okay. Embrace challenges or unexpected turns with grace and openness; they can be stepping stones to something amazing, like real estate has been for me. Even leading me to partner with one of the most prominent names in real estate and media, Egypt Sherrod at Indigo Road Realty.
Learn from everyone, everywhere. My life has taught me to be a lifelong learner. Soak up knowledge from mentors, colleagues, and even your clients. There’s always something new to discover. Just look around…
Don’t let “shoulda, woulda, couldas” hold you back. Like that real estate license I always wanted but pushed aside? Don’t be afraid to chase your dreams, even if it feels unconventional. Sometimes the best opportunities come when we take a leap of faith. Go chase getting UNCOMFORTABLE… that’s where the transformation is.
Be mindful of the questions you ask because they will determine the answers you arrive at. Instead of asking, “Why me?” ask, “Why NOT me?”.
Focus on the impact, not just the income. Building a legacy extends far beyond financial gain. Strive to make a positive difference in your client’s lives – in fact, anyone you may encounter, whether it’s helping them find their dream home or navigate the complexities of life with the benefit of your unique purview.
Remember, it’s not just about the sale; it’s about the connection. Real estate is a people’s business. Build genuine relationships with people, understand their stories and dreams, and become their trusted partner.
