Community Highlights: Meet Lamante Attaud of TENDO technologies LLC

Today we’d like to introduce you to Lamante Attaud.

Hi Lamante, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
In Sept 1996, I opened his first “internet” account with pipeline.com. It was a small community of mostly nerds and programmers like myself. That year, using my background in Fortran and C++ began teaching myself HTML. Using IRC chat (a predecessor to modern messaging programs). I learned quickly creating my first web page. It was a single page, with a white background and a single burgundy rectangle placed in the center. I had made a friend in Australia and using the chat program, I sent the super long url (web address) and he described the web page exactly as I had programmed it. From that day until now I have loved the ever evolving world wide web.

In 2004, I stepped out in faith with the encouragement of my first client and mentor, Phillip Gaines of Hi-Tech Signs. After eliminating all obstacles, the final one was the need for a client. Phillip wrote him a check that day and TENDO technologies was off the launch pad. I became active with the Rome Chamber, serving 7 years on the board. I’ve also served on many of its committees. I have in the past and currently serve on several non profit boards including the Community Criminal Justice Foundation Inc, South Rome Redevelopment Association, Domestic Violence Task Force, NWGA Minority Business Association, The A Night to Remember Foundation Inc, The Exchange Club of Rome, among many others. Rumor has it that I also resemble Santa

I’ve expanded TENDO in recent years founding a digital media company, Big Daddy Enterprises LLC, focused on digital media production and even includes FAA licensed professional drone service.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
There have been bumps in the road. The first big one was the recession of 2010. I remember sitting at my desk with a resume in one hand and the thought of giving up my entrepreneurial dreams and on my computer screen a small contract for a simple website. I tore up the resume and did a lot of praying and pushed on. TENDO survived.

The next huge bump was the pandemic. 2019 to 2020. People were staying home, conventions and all business gatherings were stopped and one of the first budgets cut for so many businesses was their marketing and advertising budgets. Again I was at a crossroad but I reflected on 2010, had the support of loyal clients and once again my go-to, a lot of prayer.

All the other bumps can be summed up as the “cost of doing business”

One of my life mottos is a quote from Nelson Mandela – “I never lose, either I win or I learn”

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The mission has been to help companies and organizations of any size across to globe. From the local “insurance guy” to the New York fashion event agency to a major global manufacturer, and everything in between. My passion for puzzles and programming is the fuel that keeps the TENDO engine going strong. With the assistance of my marketing gladiators, TENDO is helping to fight off the competitors, protecting our client’s brand, and expanding their empire.

The 2 main branches we excel in, which work in concert with one another.

We all have a different way of looking at and defining success. How do you define success?
On the bottom of every client invoice is this quote from the book of Proverb 16:8 – “Better is a little with righteousness than great revenues without right.”. I treat my clients fairly and honestly and my doors have stayed open even when logic concluded that I should give up. I love what I do, I love learning new skills, I love making my clients smile and thankful for choosing my firm.

Not becoming a rich man monetarily but give my loving wife, Jennifer and our children a wonderful life. Where my schedule is flexible enough to attend school events with my 7 and 9 yrs olds, Samuel and Isaac. Cosplay conventions with my 19 yr old, Madi. Planning a wedding, next March for my 23 yr old, Angel, Helping my 37 yr old, Matthew to grow his own business that has been thriving for several years now. I’ve also helped many of my adult godchildren, grandchildren, and close friends to spread their entrepreneurial wings.

Excellence is never an accident. It is always a result of high intention, sincere effort, intelligent direction, skilled execution and the vision to see that there are no obstacles, only opportunities.
