Community Highlights: Meet LaShanda Green

Today we’d like to introduce you to LaShanda Green.

Hi LaShanda, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I started my career in real estate in 2015. I worked in corporate America for
fifteen years in fraud prevention, telecommunication, leasing, and financial
analyst roles. While working in corporate America, I desired to have more
flexibility with my schedule and work independently. After company downsizing, I
decided to pursue a new career path. I became a licensed real estate agent in
2015. In 2016, I started my career with Keller Williams Realty Atlanta Partners.
During my first year as a real estate agent, I was awarded Rookie of the Year by
Keller Williams. Throughout my career, I have received the Circle of Excellence
Award for 1 Million, 2 Million, and 4 Million in sales volume. I've maintained being
in the Top 20% of my brokerage company each year. To further my professional
achievements, I became a licensed real estate Broker in 2019. I am a mentor at Village Premier Collection, a former Metro South Board of Realtors member, and a current member of Dekalb Association of Realtors Women’s Council.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
It was not always a smooth road. In life, challenges will always occur. However, how the challenges are handled is most important.
One of the biggest challenges I faced at the start of my career was maintaining a balance between my career and family. At the beginning of my career, my children were very young. Ensuring I attended their school activities and meeting the demand of the real estate profession was challenging in my early years in the field. However, I’ve learned how to manage the real estate profession and also be present for my family. Another challenge was believing I could succeed in this competitive and high-demand field. Real estate is not an easy profession and takes a lot of dedication. I embraced a career path that was new for my family. However, taking this leap has been rewarding.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
I love the culture and diversity of the Atlanta Metropolitan area. I genuinely believe the Atlanta area offers so much for entrepreneurs to grow and thrive. Atlanta also provides opportunities for the youth that I find rewarding. As a result
of being a fast-growing city, I believe Atlanta has faced challenges with proper infrastructures to help with transportation, resulting in significant traffic. In the future, I would love to see our city implement more public transportation options
across the metropolitan area to alleviate the traffic on the interstate. Atlanta is a beautiful city with much to offer families, entrepreneurs, and young professionals. I look forward to seeing Atlanta continue to thrive.
