Today we’d like to introduce you to Monique Liles.
Hi Monique, so excited to have you with us today. What can you tell us about your story?
I have been working for others since 1998 in the areas of bookkeeping, HR, benefits, payroll, and as an executive assistant. I have worked as a 1099 contractor for small businesses, for corporate organizations, and as a teacher. I also have earned 5 degrees. Given the uncertain economy and stresses of working for others, I decided a few months ago to use all of the education and skills that I have earned and used to help others grow their businesses over the past decades, in my own business run the way that I would like to run it. I have decided to sell my services directly to the public rather than waiting for someone to need my services, realize what I can offer, and decide to hire me. I am using my skills to build an enterprise that will not only support myself, but other small businesses and entrepreneurs, while filling in gaps and missing services and business environments in the community.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, definitely not. I am still persevering. The hardest part for me is getting financing and being fundable as a business. Financing is a struggle, pricing was a struggle, but I am persevering.
Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
My organization is More With Mo Enterprises. This will be an S-Corp with the current operations businesses under that umbrella to deliver services seamlessly and effectively. My first business in the enterprise is Do More With Mo Bookkeeping and Management, LLC. I help small businesses, especially education businesses and start-ups form with my business formation services for all 50 states. I provide a start-up package with business formation, EIN number, state taxpayer ID number and tax certificate, guidance on county and state formation requirements in Henry County, GA, and mobile POS systems to accept payments on the go. Intellectual property application assistance is provided as well as bookkeeping services. I will be providing free educational information via my social media channels soon, as well as courses via my platform and Udemy. The second entity in More With Mo Enterprises is Learn More With Mo. This part of my business focuses on providing my services as a learning engineer to education organizations. I am creating a microschool for underserved community members, with my own curriculum. I also create and sell curriculum for white label use, and help curriculum teams create research-based, sound and effective curricula for their student populations. I also create online courses for education businesses and companies for a variety of platforms and LMS systems. The third division of More With Mo Enterprises helps provide formation, management, and consulting for nonprofit organization. Serve More With Mo leverages my MHUS in Human Services Administration and my love for community service to help nonprofits organize and manage their businesses. I help people form nonprofit coalitions, organize their businesses to be in the best position possible to receive grants, write grants, and manage the grants they obtain. I also help with program development and program evaluations.
My brand is basically me. I am proud that I have been able to use all of my life, work, and educational experiences to create a knowledge brand and provide value to others. I am a person many seek guidance and information from, so now is the best time to leverage that into my own brand and knowledge business.
I am most proud of my brand and my ability to partner with a variety of other businesses to provide valuable services to the community, and share my love of business organization and structure to help ensure the success of other businesses. I am hoping to create a small business education and support group for Henry County small businesses.
Let’s talk about our city – what do you love? What do you not love?
I love Atlanta! The diversity and size of the Metro Atlanta area provides something for everyone, and each of my moods. I like being able to live in the suburbs and hang out in a small town atmosphere with the ability to drive 30 minutes to experience city life.
What I like least about the city is the traffic and how far apart some areas are. It takes an hour one way for me to drive to visit a few of my friends in the area.
