Confidence & Identity
Being the child of a Bishop is no easy feat. I struggled a lot with finding my identity in Christ & as a creative person outside of church & outside of the “church girl” persona. I felt like pursuing Arts & entrepreneurship the way I was in some way was a betrayal to my roots or community because over the years I’ve watched how unkind the church can be to women in and outside of ministry. However, I learned that a lot of the real work happens outside of the 4 walls of the church. That as long as I live pleasing to the lord, and remain in execution of my purpose, I will always be in God’s will regardless of what people may want to attach me to. Also, Having the support and encouragement of my parents did wonders for my self- esteem.
Self Image
I lost 130 lbs. Being a young woman over 300LBS during the pandemic was not how I was going to spend the rest of my 20’s. At a point, I understood what it meant to take care of myself and being overweight, depressed, and stagnant wasn’t going to cut it. So I made the hard decisions, lost the weight, got into therapy, and really did the healing work on my heart, mind, and body.
Music
It’s a lot of smoke & Mirrors in atlanta. However, I feel extremely privileged. I came to Atlanta as a transfer student from Radford University to Clark Atlanta University. Before I transferred, I did a study abroad year at Emlyon Business School studying luxury management because I was going to get everything out of that experience before moving to atl. Once I got here, I understood that I wanted my spot when it came to being an artist. I quickly Joined the National Collegiate Entertainment Group at CAU where a majority of artist development for me took place. I then became a member and student of Grammy U, a mentorship program crafted by the recording academy. There I learned from stellar mentors about music business, and the importance of protecting yourself as an independent artist, and growing your platform organically. I then began to build out my own catalog of music & doing the work. Now with my current partnership with Alpha Music Group/Empire I feel empowered and protected as i fortify my path as an Artist.
Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Please tell us more about your business or organization. What should we know? What do you do, what do you specialize in / what are you known for? What sets you apart from others? What are you most proud brand wise? What do you want our readers to know about your brand, offerings, services, etc?
Audacieux Brand Health & Beauty is my baby. As a black woman with 4c hair, It was always hard finding the texture match for protective styling. I committed myself to creating alternatives and making them available for women with 3a-4c hair, & Straight naturals. We’re going to wear extensions. I’m of the belief that wearing hair that literally does not match your texture when curly or straight is majorly counter productive and a little confusing. My heart’s posture is to help women have a safe journey returning to themselves and the things that make us most authentic & beautiful.
Audacieux Brand Fashion House is my e-boutique where I create & curate clothing for the dauntless. It allows me to utilize my Fashion Design & Luxury Management Degree while having fun building out my entrepreneurial empire.
