Community Highlights: Meet Noelle Larson of AtHome Team – Engel & Volkers Atlanta

Today we’d like to introduce you to Noelle Larson.

Noelle Larson

Hi Noelle, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I began my professional career managing a local nonprofit here in Georgia where I was responsible for day-to-day organizational management, donor and sponsor engagement, marketing, member communications, volunteer leadership and support, and event coordination. Being a non-profit, it relied on volunteers to support it’s mission with their time, financial donations, and a very comprehensive collection of industry experts that were willing to share their knowledge and support the efforts of the organization. It inspired me to witness others working together with a shared purpose. I realized that this is when real community is created and when that happens, it’s contagious and encourages others to step in, get involved, and give back.

Through that work, I was recruited by one of my sponsors (a real estate law firm) to join them and lead a practice area focused on client education events, marketing, relationship-building with industry partners, and practice area/firm promotions. That role was incredibly rewarding as it helped me identify and recognize both my personal and professional strengths: building relationships through client-facing interactions, delivering a level of service that inspired a long-term connection with clients and industry partners, harnessing strong negotiation skills that created mutually beneficial partnerships/contracts, and navigating/resolving problems utilizing effective communication strategies that built both trust and respect. A pivitol realization was that one of my responsibilities at the time was to manage the firm’s real estate school (a resource for Georgia real estate licensees that provides continuing education credits). Looking back, this particular experience was laying the foundation for my future interest in real estate.

Years later, and after gaining a deeper understanding and exposure into the real estate industry while feeling a strong pull to serve others more directly, I made the decision to obtain my real estate license. What I discovered during those years is that I have a deep and personal need to provide value and doing so makes me feel like I make a difference. Building longlasting and genuine relationships, supporting/protecting clients as they navigate one of the most important financial decisions they will make in their lifetime, and do those things by utilizing the skills obtained with my past experiences, was exciting! It felt like a natural next step because it was an opportunity to translate those skills into meaningful, client-centered experiences. I’m both grateful and proud that my introduction into real estate allowed me to offer something many agents cannot and that is an added layer of professional execution rooted in contract knowledge and insight, ensuring my clients’ best interests are always at the forefront of the transaction.

With each new client and transaction, there are lessons at every turn because the market is in constant motion. The commitment to be aware of local, national, and global changes is critical so that you are able to properly advise and educate your clients. It is exciting, challenging, and loaded with responsibility that should always be supported with an ethical mindset. Most importantly, it’s a career that allows me to be a part of individual chapters, guided moments, and important life transitions. I am so incredibly grateful for the stories that I get to share in. My clients become friends and friends become clients…and both become a part of my extended family.

Today, my business has grown beyond anything I could have imagined. I’ve obtained my Broker’s license, helped launch a brokerage and build a team, and now serve, alongside my business partner, as Co-Team Lead of the AtHome Team at Engel & Völkers Atlanta. I am married to a man who truly sees my heart. I have two beautiful daughters that I could not be more proud of. I am Nannie to the most amazing five-year-old little girl and eagerly awaiting the arrival of twin grandchildren. My heart is full.

My biggest lesson is a realization that life is a blend of beauty, challenge, and change. If you’re fortunate enough to find a career that allows you to give back and genuinely impact others, the fulfillment is immeasurable.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Real estate is full of ups and downs. The market doesn’t wait for you and the competition is fierce. You have to prioritize education, stay relevant, and focus on the long-game. You need to develop a tough skin (if you don’t already have one), keep a compassionate heart, and obtain the knowledge/experience needed to help your clients navigate what can often times be a stressful and emotional experience.

Key: Learning to identify what a work/life balance looks like for you and prioritizing what is most important.

Building relationships wherever you go and learning something from every person you meet is the key to success. Put the ego on the shelf behind you because it will only get in the way. Surround yourself with people you respect and that inspire you. Challenge yourself to always learn something new, be the best version of you, and prioritize integrity and authenticity.

Get involved and find “your people.” It may be a social club, a sport, a networking group, a church, a neighborhood, your childs school…the list goes on and on. Do what feels right and comfortable for you, not what has worked for someone else.
