Hi Olivia, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m a graphic designer and I’ve always wanted to start my own company. Up until now, that’s looked like doing freelance work while still working at an ad agency full time. One day my boyfriend had an idea for a t-shirt design and I, of course, agreed to design it for him. But that got us thinking – why not make a t-shirt company? We were driving to New Orleans one day and talked about what our business would look like for the entire 8 hour drive. We chose the name, Pasta Mama, talked about all our shirt ideas, and secured the instagram handle while in the car. I even started designing the logo & website on that trip. About a week later, Pasta Mama was launched!
Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
We are pretty early in the process still, but it has been fairly smooth. Finding the right printing company for the shirts took a little trial and error, and we still have a lot to learn when it comes to social media marketing. But thankfully, I’ve always worked in marketing & advertising, so I have a little bit of any idea what I’m doing.
We’ve been impressed with Pasta Mama, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My company is called Pasta Mama, and we are an apparel company. We are Atlanta based, and a handful of our designs are ATL focused. Our shirts are all designed by me, and I would say our style is a little bit skate, a little bit punk, and a little bit retro.
The name Pasta Mama comes from my boyfriend – I’m Italian and the name just stuck. We also loved the idea of calling our shirts spaghet-tees. Right now you can buy our shirts on our site, www.teampastamama.com, and we are launching new designs all the time! We also post a lot of fun content on our instagram & tiktok (@teampastamama).
We want to create not just an apparel company, but a creative entity that allows for collaboration and experimentation. So even though we’re only selling t-shirts right now, we have so many ideas for the future!

- Spaghet-tees are $25
