Community Highlights: Meet Ramon Noguera of PNS CARGO

Today we’d like to introduce you to Ramon Noguera.

Hi Ramon, it’s an honor to have you on the platform. Thanks for taking the time to share your story with us – to start maybe you can share some of your backstory with our readers?
I came to the United States eight years ago, leaving behind a difficult situation that impacted both my country and my personal life. I’m a civil engineer by profession, but like many immigrants, I had to start from scratch when I arrived here. I worked as a stock boy, florist, dishwasher, in demolition, painting buildings, hotel bellman, doing delivery services, Uber — and I spent many birthdays and holidays working hard, always focused on building a better future.

Almost four years ago, while living in Miami, I launched my first venture: a hamburger food truck that I started with a friend. We invested all our savings and began with a lot of hope. After four months, we were relocating to Midtown Miami, but we were scammed by the person in charge of the lot where we were supposed to park the truck. Overnight, we were left with no place to operate, and in such a competitive market, we couldn’t secure a new spot. We lost almost everything.

With the little I was able to recover — and using the experience I had gained working in delivery and last-mile services — I decided to start again. That’s when my company was born under the name Pirineos Cargo, offering courier services in Miami and shipping goods to Venezuela. However, I felt the industry was too saturated, and I needed to take a bigger step.

I made one of the most important decisions of my life: relocating the business to Nashville. There, the company evolved into a shorter and more commercial name — PNS Cargo. I began offering services to U.S. and international transportation brokers and soon secured key routes west of Nashville. Months later, we expanded to Atlanta, then Virginia, Indianapolis, and St. Louis.

Today, PNS Cargo moves around 8,000 packages per day, with a fleet of approximately 80 drivers, and we continue to grow alongside national and international clients.

I believe my story represents what can be achieved through hard work, dedication, resilience, and a strong belief in your own dreams. I went from doing every job I could to survive, to leading a profitable company that continues to expand. If my journey can inspire others who are starting from zero, then it will all have been even more worthwhile.

Alright, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
Definitely not. One of the biggest challenges was starting from zero — taking on the hardest jobs in a country that wasn’t mine, but one that opened its doors and gave me a chance to rebuild my future.

The language barrier was also a significant challenge. I see myself as a smart and capable person, and I’ve worked hard to learn enough English to negotiate deals and represent my company — sometimes with a bit of help. I spent several years in Miami, and between the types of jobs I worked and how little English is actually used there, it took me longer to become fluent.

Another difficult moment was losing all my savings in my first business venture — a food truck. It was my first attempt at entrepreneurship and it came with a harsh reality check. I felt the weight of failure, but thankfully, with what I was able to recover from selling the truck, I had just enough to start the business that would ultimately change my life.

Every obstacle taught me something, made me stronger, and pushed me to keep going. Today, I value each challenge — without them, I wouldn’t be where I am.

Thanks for sharing that. So, maybe next you can tell us a bit more about your business?
Our company specializes in last-mile delivery services. We are known for our strong focus on training and supporting our drivers. We specialize in same-day deliveries, which means our team must be extremely detail-oriented when picking up and delivering packages, since accuracy and timing are essential for our clients.

What sets us apart from others in the industry is that we provide additional services when requested — such as placement of goods, extra loading and unloading in difficult locations, and even basic installations when needed. We always aim to bring added value beyond a standard delivery.

What makes me most proud of our brand is our people. The team behind PNS Cargo is exceptional: hardworking, reliable, and committed. They are the reason the company continues to grow and why our clients keep trusting us. Without them, none of this would be possible.

What sort of changes are you expecting over the next 5-10 years?
I believe the last-mile delivery industry will continue to grow rapidly. As e-commerce keeps expanding, the demand for companies that can deliver goods quickly and reliably to customers’ doorsteps will only increase.

Technology will also play a major role in shaping the industry — from new navigation tools to more advanced management systems and more efficient, sustainable vehicles. Adapting to these innovations will be essential to stay competitive.

As for us, we want to grow alongside the market. Over the next 5 years, we aim to expand into at least five additional cities, strengthening our partnerships and continuing to deliver the high-quality service we are known for.
