Community Highlights: Meet Rose Mercado of Photobombshell Media

Today we’d like to introduce you to Rose Mercado.

Hi Rose, we’re thrilled to have a chance to learn your story today. So, before we get into specifics, maybe you can briefly walk us through how you got to where you are today?
My work has always lived at the intersection of culture, storytelling, and visibility, even before I had the language for what I was building.

I began my career in media as a photographer, journalist, and creative documentarian, telling stories for independent artists and communities that weren’t often featured in traditional media. What began as a simple desire to highlight overlooked voices evolved into a deeper understanding of how media, narrative, and positioning shape opportunities. I saw firsthand that visibility isn’t random. It’s strategic. The way a story is framed can change how a person, brand, or project is perceived, supported, and invested in. I always tell my clients, “Control your narrative.”

As my work grew, so did my role. I moved beyond content creation into building platforms, producing shows, and designing narrative ecosystems that create long-term authority for the people and projects I worked with. That evolution led to the creation of Photobombshell Media as a boutique media strategy and production firm, and to cultural platforms like PLLRS and Won of One: A PLLRS Podcast, where I could preserve important stories, spark meaningful conversations, and create spaces for creators and untold stories of success to be featured properly.

Today, my work focuses on media strategy, PR, production, and experiential storytelling for podcasters, musicians, and creatives who are ready to move from content to positioning; visibility to leverage. Everything I build is rooted in intention, integrity, and the belief that media isn’t just content, it’s authority, it’s opportunity, and it’s proof that you are who you say you are.

Would you say it’s been a smooth road, and if not what are some of the biggest challenges you’ve faced along the way?
Definitely not a smooth road, but a meaningful one.

Building within media and culture means constantly navigating moving parts, evolving personalities, shifting priorities, and environments that don’t always value structure, clarity, or long-term vision. One of my greatest strengths is that I bring systems, strategy, and intentional structure into creative spaces, but one of the biggest challenges has been learning how to remain flexible while still protecting the integrity of those systems.

I’ve had to learn how to hold vision without controlling, to build frameworks that can bend without breaking, and to lead in rooms where alignment isn’t always guaranteed. Not every collaboration has been clean. Not every partnership has been sustainable, and not every creative space is ready for accountability, consistency, or intentional growth, even when they say they are.

There were moments that required me to rebuild, reposition, and sometimes walk away from projects that no longer honored the standards, clarity, or direction I was building toward. Those moments sharpened my discernment, strengthened my leadership, and clarified the kind of work I choose to do now. Every challenge refined my systems, boundaries, vision, and, ultimately, Photobombshell Media into the intentional, boutique media architecture firm it is today.

We’ve been impressed with Photobombshell Media, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Photobombshell Media is a boutique media architecture and production firm rooted in intention, narrative, and cultural impact. We specialize in strategy, media management, PR, and experiential storytelling for podcasters, musicians, and creatives who are ready to move beyond content and into positioning. Our work centers on building narrative ecosystems (not just campaigns) that establish authority, deepen connection, and create long-term value.

What sets us apart is that we don’t chase trends or virality. We design systems built on authenticity and storytelling. Every platform, show, activation, and press moment is architected with purpose, aligned to who our clients are, what they stand for, and how they want to be experienced in culture. We work closely, collaboratively, and intentionally, often stepping in as strategic partners, producers, and narrative stewards rather than just “service providers.”

We’re known for building cultural platforms like PLLRS and Won of One, producing conversations that spark real dialogue, and creating experiential activations that feel like moments, not marketing. I’m most proud of the way our work has created visibility with integrity, generating global viral moments, press coverage, and millions of impressions while still protecting the HEART of the stories being told.

What I want readers to know is that Photobombshell Media exists to help creatives be seen properly. We don’t just help you show up. We help you build presence, positioning, and proof. Media is leverage. Narrative is power. Everything we build is designed to last.

How can people work with you, collaborate with you or support you?
Working with Photobombshell Media begins with intention.

We partner with podcasters, musicians, and creatives who are ready to move beyond surface-level content and into strategic positioning, narrative clarity, and long-term visibility. Many collaborations begin with a strategy consultation, where we assess what you already have (your platforms, your presence, your voice), and make intentional recommendations on what to refine, what to build, and, just as importantly, what to stop doing so your energy and messaging are aligned with your real goals.

From there, clients may bring us on as strategic partners for existing platforms, shows, or brands, stepping in to strengthen positioning, structure, production, and messaging, or we may architect something entirely new: a podcast, a show, a media presence, a public persona, or a full cultural platform built from the ground up.

Our work extends to the fine details as well, from writing SEO-optimized show notes, refining episode flow, audio editing, and podcast distribution, to PR strategy, narrative placement, and experiential activations, ensuring every layer of your presence feels intentional, cohesive, and elevated.

We also collaborate with brands, venues, and cultural partners who believe in building meaningful conversations and experiences, not just moments for clicks. Support can be as simple as engaging with the platforms we steward: watching, listening, sharing, and participating in the conversations that matter. Sponsorships for brands with alignment to our platforms and client narratives are also always welcome.

Photobombshell Media exists to build presence, not just content, and every aligned connection helps that work expand.
