Hi Samaria, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
How I got myself to where I am today was simply driven by ambition. I always knew I wanted to attach my name to something I could call my own from my hard work and dedication. Making candles was never my ideal business to begin with but it was something I did just for fun, for my family. Selling iPhone cases and snacks in school was my way of hustling just because I made easy money and enjoyed it but later on in life, my talents of making scented goods took my mind elsewhere, deeper into entrepreneurship. My Mother’s obssesion is one of the strongest reasons why I create scented candles today, and because I do, she really doesn’t have to buy from candle companies ever again unless she wants to. Creating ThaRichAroma LLC has been a blessing to me, for me sharing my creativity, my ideas with the city, the world makes me beyond grateful. Where I am today in my business took plenty of patience and prayer which makes me proud. I really am just getting started to create something even bigger for my name, my family and my city.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Some struggles I faced along the way was discouragement, feeling like I wouldn’t sell out or feeling like others wouldn’t support me. Of course, I overcame this insecurity simply by believing in myself, realizing that’s all I really needed. I learned to take my confidence to another level, which helped me block out any negativity, stress or doubt.
Alright, so let’s switch gears a bit and talk business. What should we know?
ThaRichAroma LLC is a black-owned business that is open and global for all shoppers. TRA (ThaRichAroma) creates marbled patterns and luxury-style scented candles, hand-poured here in East Atlanta, Georgia. Future plans for TRA are to soon open a candle studio for the public and even host candle-making classes for those whom would also like to pursue their dreams or interest in creating candles. I am most proud of the progress I’ve made with ThaRichAroma and most excited about sharing my amazing ideas with the rest of the world.

One book that helps me do my best at most things in my life is “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne.
