Community Highlights: Meet Sebrena Sumrah-Kelly of Global Sisters Speak Network

Today we’d like to introduce you to Sebrena Sumrah-Kelly.

Hi Sebrena, please kick things off for us with an introduction to yourself and your story.
I am a Native of Guyana, South America. I relocated to Atlanta in 2002 with my daughter Amani, with a couple of job prospects and resided with one of my mom’s friend. I did not know anyone, but once employed I began to meet friends

I attended a Networking event and left empowered and said I need a business and I was fascinated with the Networking area

On April 15, 2011, I launched my 1st Venture, Caribbean American Business connections ( A forum that focused on business, Education and Employment). I began hosting monthly networking events throughout Atlanta as I establish Global connections, building relationships. My life was Wife, Mother and work and somewhere in there I inserted a bright idea to bridge the gap with my culture and the American culture. My events have been documented to have people from Villages, Parishes, counties, Countries, a multi cultural space and appreciation for one’s nationality.

I then was gifted my own radio show on Love 860 where I produced my platform Called the N-VEST-N-YOU empowerment series. This brought a global audience which I was intentional with that concept.

Public Speaking, Magazine features, Authoring my 1st Anthology , Actor, certified Life coaching, all which I embrace and thoroughly enjoys as I serve. 2024 I launched The Global Sisters Speak Network, This is now grown over 1K women online, Monthly events and Our Largest Gathering on December 5th, our 2nd Annual International ball.

As I look back at my journey, I smile and Use it as blueprint for success as I mentor and coach Women and communities.

Can you talk to us a bit about the challenges and lessons you’ve learned along the way. Looking back would you say it’s been easy or smooth in retrospect?
Funding for my brand

Great, so let’s talk business. Can you tell our readers more about what you do and what you think sets you apart from others?
The Global Sisters Speak Network, launched March 9th, 2024. I started this platform with women locally and globally. They represent Americans, and an International community. The beautiful accents, culture and food. This organization has grown organically. We have an online community and a quarterly Networking events. We aim to be transformative, Empowering and Collaborate. Brand promotions is our Flagship Service. As a coach I have shown the Women the Art of Networking, expanding their respective platforms. I have stress the Key to success is to collaborate, not Compete. The women are reminded of their WINS, to celebrate each action big or small as it is one step closer to a goal.

I am most proud of the women that said YES to my vision and embraced this as a Global Village for Them. We cry, we laugh and we pray. We know outside of family and work, They have a Sisterhood that is genuine. A place to Shine and Birth their vision.

My forecast for 2026, will be to implement our membership portal, Marketplace, and expanding our Sister circles, this will create Income streams, Build our brands more globally and active public speaking areas. Our goal is to Ignite Women Globally.

I am especially proud of our biggest event, our 2nd annual International ball to be held on Friday December 5th, 2025. We are expected to exceed over 200 attendees. We are most proud of our attendees, sponsors and Community support from across the US and Internationally,

What were you like growing up?
I grew up in a small village called Stewartville in Guyana South America. I was an only child raised by my grand mother. My mom migrated to the USA. I was loved by my grand mother and extended family. I was very talkative in class but excellent in school work. I enjoyed and played lots of sports from cricket, soccer, track and field. I enjoyed my dance classes and love attending village banquets. I wanted to have friends since I was an only child , but my strict grand mother was against it. I loved school more so, because that was the opportunity I got to really see and enjoy my friends
