Hi Serwa, can you start by introducing yourself? We’d love to learn more about how you got to where you are today?
God gave me the vision of Undo Braid & Extension Takedown 3 years ago, back when I used to have difficulty taking my extensions out. So, to avoid cutting my own hair, I would always travel to a friend’s house, so that they could do it for me.
Of course, at times it was enjoyable, because it gave us the opportunity to catch up. However, other times, it wasn’t as convenient when our schedules didn’t align.
All of my life, I have heard the pain stories of so many women, discussing how they cut their hair or how they just simply dreaded preparing to take their own hair down.
So, I came up with a resolution for every woman that had the same struggle as me, to open up a takedown salon, that specialized in takedowns ONLY!
I kept UNDO quietly tucked in my womb for 3 years, only sharing it w/a very few people. I allowed life, work, grief from losing my sister, Rashida, and my other business – Mesmerized Decor, take precedence…& I must admit, it was a bit of comfort + fear that held me back too.
However, after a conversation w/ a special friend, they re-ignited that fire within and urged me to not wait another day….& I didn’t.
I refused to exit 2024 w/o birthing Undo…& on 10/10/2024…I was honored to introduce my baby to the world.
I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
It wasn’t easy at all, but it actually wasn’t that rough either, simply because it was ordained by God. It definitely took a lot of work, research, funds, planning, and several sleepless nights, etc… but it was worth every second. I prayed my way through it all. I prayed and asked God, that if it was meant for UNDO to break ground, for HIM to allow it to happen. I also prayed for Him to allow the process to be smooth and if it wasn’t meant, for Him to block it. HE set the foundation & He paved the way. God even directed me to the perfect home for UNDO @ Salons by JC in Sandy Springs, where I have an amazing support system beginning with the owners – Mr. Trevor & Mrs. Gerthy, all the way down to my suitemates. He guided my steps from concept to conception & HE answered all of my prayers; and gratitude will forever be my attitude.

What sets us apart from other salons, is that we don’t do hair at all, we only UNDO hair.

We also understand that while every woman is wearing her protective style, her hair went through every adventure with her and endured everything that she has endured – good or bad. Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
I’m more of a calculated & strategic risk taker. I am my happiest self when I’m in my comfort zone, but we all know that you must be uncomfortable in order to grow. Creating such an unorthodox salon was very risky & I had many uncomfortable moments, but I simply did it uncomfortably.
All I needed was faith, the size of a mustard seed, & to this very day I still have that same faith. Faith that it’s going to all work out…& through the Grace of God, it is!
I want to take a moment to say thank you to all of our clients that has already been a part of our journey. Thank you for supporting Undo. Thank you to our future clients that are already on our calendars & for the ones that will soon book. Thank you to everyone that has told a friend, shared a post, & that has supported UNDO in any capacity. A very very special thank you to our amazing takedown experts @ UNDO. There is no I in team, & when God gave me the vision, I always knew that it was greater than me. I always knew that I would need a special team to help bring it to life, so I am extremely grateful for you all.
