Community Highlights: Meet Shayla Lovett-Robinson of Savvy Business Solutions

Today we’d like to introduce you to Shayla Lovett-Robinson.

Hi Shayla, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
I have always had the heart of a servant leader from as far back as I can remember. As I got older, I became even more passionate about helping others improve their lives. I was inspired to start my own business after my husband passed away suddenly from cancer back in 2013. My husband’s death helped to launch me into my purpose. I went from pain to purpose within a year and a half of my husband passing. I went back to school finished up my bachelor’s degree program. After graduating with my undergrad, I went on to graduate school and completed my master’s program and sooner after launched my own credit repair business after facing credit/debt challenges of my own. I have helped so many people improve their credit and achieve their financial goals so that they are able build generational wealth for generations to come. That’s just one of the many businesses I have launched in the last nine years since losing my husband and becoming a widow at a young age. If being left behind to raise two small children alone isn’t reason enough to get focused, I’m not sure what is. Since losing my husband I have also launched a life insurance agency with my five business partners. My business partners and I own one of the few black-owned insurance agencies in our area. We service clients in both FLA and GA. Losing my husband suddenly has definitely been the inspiration behind this business venture. I have had the pleasure of sharing my story in hopes that my story never becomes anyone else’s. My husband had a large insurance policy on his job that did not pay out at the time of his death.

We were misinformed about the death benefits and was given the wrong information prior to my husband passing away therefore I did not file a claim which means we had to pay for my husband’s funeral expenses out of pocket. I share this with many of my clients and so many others because I never want this to be anyone else’s reality. I am very big on educating my clients. It’s my job as the professional to make sure my clients are informed when they leave my presence. I want the information I have provided for them to make sense. I also want whatever option they choose to be both suitable for their family’s needs and affordable. I want to ensure my clients are setting their families up for financial success. I am also a licensed realtor in the state of Georgia. Something I have just recently started. Real estate is something I dabbled in a little bit years ago. I feel as if the Lord leads me back to the real estate industry after ten years as another way of serving others in a different capacity. I tell people all the time everything I said yes to isn’t just for me and my family, but for them and their family as well. It’s my way of giving back to my community and it gives me great joy to see someone’s life change through the services that I’m able to provide. Everything I do is a ministry to me. I’m here to serve others that is my mission in life and I don’t take it lightly.

I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
It definitely hasn’t been a smooth road that’s for sure. I have had to overcome some obstacles. I’ve faced a lot of challenges along the way, but I can truly say it has all been worth it. The sleepless nights and long hours are definitely starting to pay off. All the opposition has only made me who I am. There were many days and nights I wanted to give up. On the days and nights I wanted to give up I would think to myself if I give up now, I will never know what I could have been and besides I vowed that my sons Christian 13 and Omari 20 would never see their mother give up. At that point, I would pull myself together and keep going even on the hard days, I still went hard and I made it happen for myself and my family.

We’ve been impressed with Savvy Business Solutions LLC, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Savvy Business Solutions LLC provides financial and real estate services. As a real estate professional, credit specialist, and life insurance broker, I educate my clients on how to build generational wealth through real estate, life insurance, and financial literacy. I help my clients to understand their money and how to make it work for them. This year my goal is to normalize homeownership in every community. My job is to ensure everyone knows the importance of having a healthy credit score, how to build generational wealth through real estate as well as how to set their family up for financial success through life insurance. In 2022 I want everyone to know they can own a home and it’s my job as a real estate professional to ensure they are well informed on how to accomplish their real estate goals. I’m excited about launching a homebuying program that will help to educate more people on the homebuying process. 2022 will be a big year for Savvy Business Solutions LLC.

Is there any advice you’d like to share with our readers who might just be starting out?
Advice I would give to others is to know your craft and perfect it. Being knowledgeable of your craft makes it a lot easier for your clients/customers to trust you. People only do business with those they know, like and trust. I spend a lot of time educating myself on the services I provide. When my clients ask a question I want to be able to answer it with confidence. I want them to walk away well informed because I have taken the time educate myself on the latest trends in each of the industries. Another thing I strongly advice is getting a mentor. Find someone who’s been in the industry or profession for a number of years and can help navigate you through the tough times. Someone who will help you to avoid all the pitfalls they encountered when they started out.
