Hi Simone, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I am a Columbus, GA native. I began Glam Healthcare, LLC, to encourage women to show acts of service to themselves. Growing up, I thought about why my mother and grandmother went shopping often, got their hair and nails done. I thought it was about looking good for your partner, but it is more than that. It is about giving yourself roses. When you take the time to invest in your happiness, you learn to earn yourself respect. You respect how you choose to carry yourself, how you feel about yourself, and how people treat you. I have learned over the years, that you ARE important and how you feel is important. Before you are a mother, daughter; sister, you are yourself. You can give yourself the permission to show yourself acts of service.
We all face challenges, but looking back would you describe it as a relatively smooth road?
This has been a hard road. I have learned more about myself than anything. I have learned that I do put limits on what I allow myself to do. I feel that it is unfair to myself that at times I can hold myself and sabotage my future by not being in the now. One thing I have learned from losing my parents at a young age is that need to show gratitude to what I do have than what I do not have. It has been tough mentally, but I have gained my respect for myself by continuing a legacy.

What do you like best about our city? What do you like least?
The best part about Atlanta are the many opportunities it has. I am from a small town where opportunities are low. It is beautiful to see so many black-owned businesses flourish successfully. The only thing I dislike in Atlanta is that there are few community leaders here. The children of today are being exposed to violence and unhealthy habits of dealing with their mental health. I would love to change our future generation in that you do not have to be a rapper or athlete to be successful. You can create your own path to be successful.
