Community Highlights: Meet Stephanie Almond of Refined Lives LLC and Never Alone Foundation

Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Almond.

Hi Stephanie, thanks for joining us today. We’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
My path has been anything but easy. I’ve faced more than my fair share of unfair situations—growing up in a broken family, dealing with an absent father who was locked away in prison for 17 years , my mom in and out, being surrounded by the drugs, alcohol, and even sexual abuse. Statistically, my future was supposed to be limited by these circumstances. But I am living proof that you can defy the odds and rise above what others say is impossible.

The turning point in my life came when I found Christ. Through Him, I discovered my true identity and began to see myself through a lens of hope, healing, and possibility. I traded all the hurt, shame, guilt, brokenness, and trauma for a new life—one rooted in faith and purpose. My journey is ongoing, and I am still growing into the person God created me to be, but learning healthy tools and becoming self-aware is key.

Today, I am blessed to be a wife and mother to four wonderful children—and we’re also fostering another, making it five at home! Alongside my husband, we founded the Never Alone Foundation, driven by our shared passion to provide hope and support to those who feel isolated or forgotten and cannot afford counseling services.

Professionally, I am the proud owner of Refined Lives LLC, where I serve as a board-certified advanced Christian life coach, a board-certified master mental health coach, and a biblical counselor. My academic journey has taken me through seminary at Luther Rice College and Seminary, and I hold two diplomas from Light University, including a master’s diploma in mental health.

Through my work at Refined Lives LLC, as well as my involvement with the Never Alone Foundation and my book I recently published Divine Worth, my mission is to help others break through barriers, rediscover their purpose, and realize the incredible potential within them. If you’ve ever felt stuck, alone, or like you were meant for more, please know you are not alone. I am here to walk alongside you, helping you believe in yourself again and take your life to new heights of meaning and significance.

I’m sure it wasn’t obstacle-free, but would you say the journey has been fairly smooth so far?
No, it has definitely not been a smooth road—but I can honestly say I have learned so much along the way, both about handling difficult situations and about who I truly am.

Some of the struggles I’ve faced have been deeply personal and challenging. Growing up in a broken family, dealing with the absence of my father, and being surrounded by issues like drugs, alcohol, and even sexual abuse left scars that took years to heal. There were times when I felt completely alone, overwhelmed by shame, guilt, and brokenness. I also had to overcome the negative voices—both from others and within myself—that said I would never rise above my circumstances.

Starting and growing my own business, Refined Lives LLC, and co-founding the Never Alone Foundation with my husband brought their own set of challenges. There were moments of self-doubt, financial uncertainty, and the pressure of balancing family life with my calling to help others. But through it all, I found strength in my faith and learned the importance of perseverance, resilience, and trusting God’s plan.

Every struggle has taught me something valuable—how to set boundaries, how to forgive, how to lead with empathy, and how to keep moving forward even when the path isn’t clear. Most importantly, these experiences have helped me discover who I am in Christ and have shaped me into the person I am today. I am still learning and growing, and I’m grateful for all the lessons the journey has brought.

We’ve been impressed with Refined Lives LLC and Never Alone Foundation, but for folks who might not be as familiar, what can you share with them about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
At Refined Lives LLC, I offer faith-based life coaching, biblical counseling, and master-level mental health coaching. My approach is holistic, combining proven coaching strategies with biblical principles to help clients break through barriers, heal from past hurts, and step confidently into their God-given purpose. I work with individuals, couples, and groups, specializing in areas such as trauma recovery, self-worth, personal growth, and spiritual development.

One area I am especially passionate about is working with youth who are facing real-life challenges—whether it’s trauma, navigating the complexities of blended families, or struggling with low self-esteem. If you’re a parent who feels helpless watching your child buckle under the weight of academic and social pressures—feeling like your voice no longer reaches them—you’re not alone. One of the most powerful steps you can take is to connect them with someone who truly understands.

Through mentorship, emotional support, and confidence-building strategies, I help teens break through fear and anxiety, tap into their inner strength, and take bold steps toward their goals. At Refined Lives, we don’t just talk about potential—we unlock it. Together, we empower young people to stretch beyond their comfort zones, build courage, and show up in the world with confidence and purpose. Your teen will work with me for eight weeks, meeting weekly. They will look forward to their sessions as a time of personalized support just for them.

My husband and I founded Never Alone Foundation, which exists to provide support, resources, and a sense of belonging to people who cannot afforded counseling services. We partner with churches and other organizations to bridge the gap between mental wellness and the community. We believe that no one should ever feel alone, and our foundation offers practical help and encouragement and provides funding for those in need of counseling but cannot afford it.

Divine Worth is another initiative close to my heart. Its focus is on helping people discover and embrace their intrinsic value, regardless of what they’ve been through. Through workshops, speaking engagements, and resources, we aim to instill hope and confidence in every individual we reach.

What sets us apart is our deeply personal and faith-driven approach. I don’t just offer coaching or counseling—I walk alongside my clients as a partner in their journey, drawing from my own experiences of overcoming adversity. My credentials include being a board-certified advanced Christian life coach, a board-certified master mental health coach, and a trained biblical counselor, with academic experience from Luther Rice College and Seminary and Light University.

Brand-wise, I am most proud of the authenticity, compassion, and hope that define everything we do. Our clients often tell us they feel truly seen, heard, and understood—sometimes for the first time in their lives. Our goal is to create a safe space for healing and growth, where everyone is encouraged to discover their true worth and potential.

If you’re looking for a place to heal, grow, and become the person you were meant to be—or if you want to help your teen unlock their confidence and purpose—I invite you to connect with us. Whether through one-on-one coaching, group programs, or community outreach, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

Can you talk to us about how you think about risk?
When it comes to risk-taking, I believe that stepping out of your comfort zone is often where the greatest growth happens. For me, risk isn’t about being reckless—it’s about having faith, trusting the process, and being willing to move forward even when the outcome isn’t guaranteed.

I’ve taken several major risks in my life. One of the biggest was choosing to break free from the limitations of my past and pursue a different future, despite everything I’d been through. Starting my own business, Refined Lives LLC, was another huge leap of faith. Leaving the security of a traditional job to follow my calling and serve others through coaching, counseling, and ministry required courage, prayer, and a willingness to face uncertainty head-on.

Co-founding the Never Alone Foundation with my husband was also a significant risk. We invested our time, resources, and hearts into building something we truly believed in, even when we didn’t know if it would succeed. There were moments of doubt and fear, but I’ve learned that taking risks for the right reasons—especially when it’s about helping others—can lead to the most rewarding outcomes.

I can be a risk taker, but I’ve learned the value of developing my perspective and weighing my options before jumping all in. Taking time to pray, seek wise counsel, and carefully consider the potential outcomes has helped me make more thoughtful decisions. Not being parlayed by fear but also being wise and thinking things through allows me to balance courage with wisdom, ensuring that the risks I take are purposeful and aligned with my values and goals.
