Today we’d like to introduce you to Stephanie Anderson.
Hi Stephanie, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
Though I have lived here in Atlanta since I was 17 years old, home will always be Detroit, MI., where I was born and raised. As a youth, I have always had aspirations of getting out of the impoverished neighborhood that was 7 mile and Gilchrist. I was not always clear on how I would change the trajectory of my future, but I knew there was more. So, at 16 years old, as I was entering into my senior year of high school, I decided to drastically change my environment and relocate here to Atlanta, GA. (Before it was popular to do that l0l). My goal upon arriving was to get a scholarship and go to college to become a lawyer. Little did I know, The Lord would call me into ministry where I would help to plant, build, and later become a full-time associate pastor of one of Atlanta’s most thriving and fastest growing congregations for the next 10 years.
Today, because of my desire for more and the giant leap of faith I took concerning my career, I am now a recent graduate of Emory University’s Candler School of Theology as well as the founder of an annual women’s conference and movement entitled, The Purpose Journey.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle free, but so far would you say the journey have been a fairly smooth road?
Taking the leap of faith to walk into the 100-fold of my purpose was not easy. The most challenging part of the journey was standing on God’s promise and choosing not to settle in tough seasons. As you can imagine, choosing a life of ministry was not a lucrative selection, lol; however, God began to stretch my entrepreneurial capacity and allowed me to create multiple streams of income through several business ventures and ideas.
Appreciate you sharing that. What should we know about Purpose Journey LLC?
The Purpose Journey is a community of women supporting women in pursuit of their God-given purpose. Through intentional discipleship, community and prayer, we create an environment designed for women to thrive. Initially, this program started out as a small mentorship group of 12 women per mentorship cycle, but as the demand began to grow and our reach began to expand, we wanted to find an outlet for hundreds of women to share in the same supernatural experience. This gave birth to the annual Purpose Journey Conference; a three-day experience full of impartation, worship, prayer, and empowerment!
